Funny thing is, I tend to call classic Mega Man "G1" out of experience with the Transformers fandom.

I can't just call him Mega Man on its own can I?

I had this idea lately to have the Capcom characters have reps depending on the amount of games in the series. The real expectation to this would be Street Fighter and Mega Man, as there would be loads. :O Although one thing to add would be that the characters would be from those specific games in the series.

For example: Ryu from Street Fighter, Montgomery Bison from the Street Fighter 2 series, Rainbow Mika from the Street Fighter Alpha series, Q from the Street Fighter 3 series and Juri from the Street Fighter 4 series. Sound good to you guys? (Assuming I explained it adequately.)

To be fair, Resi was really underrepped in Capcom crossovers prior to that. Jill was in Marvel Vs Capcom 2, and that was all, really.

I would have really liked Juri. She would have had great banter with other villains, I think.

If they could wangle rights with Arika it'd rock to see Garuda again.

I think the main problem is that Capcom wants Arika to do the next EX game if there is one, but they're currently busy being an undead slave to other publishers.

Isn't Arika owned by Nintendo now? I'm pretty sure they made the Endless Ocean games.

Why though? Ken, although he's diversified from Ryu more than he used to, is still pretty redundant. And Zangief plays the same as Haggar.

It's redundant. We don't need two big, muscle-bound heavy wrestlers.

I for one am glad they replaced Zangeif with Haggar in MvC3. That way they cut down on Street Fighter characters and rep a previously unrepped series as well.

They could bring in Zangief and toss out Akuma perhaps. We don't need two shotos either.

It sort of pains me to make that suggestion, though, as Akuma is the character that feels the most natural to me in combat.

No Zangief. Yes, toss out Akuma.

Ryu, Chun Li and Viper can stay. Replace Akuma with M Bison. And add another fan favourite.

Akuma's the very reason we even HAD this crossover to begin with. Why even consider axing him?

Because A) Shoto, and B) I'm no Street Fighter fan, but I have seen hundreds of people saying Bison/Juri were better options for a SF villain.

Even though Akuma and Ryu are both shotos, they play very differently.

@Hellman Sabian - I dunno, Chun Li's absence doesn't sound right.

I'm not even a fan of Street Fighter, but I do know she's a very important character in the series.

I remember in MVSC 2 I'd play a team of three Zangiefs against a team of three Zangiefs. It was the best fight ever.

Chun-Li needs to stay, I think.

Akuma actually works pretty well with the Marvel characters.

Juri could switch in for Viper, maybe.

I'm bummed about the game's stuff getting taken off the online store. I still intended to grab the characters and costumes at some point. I really dont have the funds for it right now...

To be fair, though Akuma and Ryu play very differently in the main Street Fighter series, that difference is less pronounced in the Mv C series.

That said, I don't really mind Akuma and Ryu both being in the same crossover - especially not this one, since as Mighty Kombat said Akuma's arguably one of the reasons this series even exists in the first place. I would draw the line on a future game bringing in Ken in addition to them (like they did in Mv C 2), though, but Sakura's fine as long as they keep her distinct enough.

What this series really needs is more Dan. I think he had an appearance in Mv C 2, but I'd love it if a fourth game actually made some kind of continuity with only relevant event being that Dan was the one who canonically beat Galactus. Somehow.

Dan was in Marvel Super Heroes VS Street Fighter as well.
