If they wanted a movie made out of three movies, they could have waited for a bit and use Diablomon Strikes Back instead.
Well for starters they didn't knew diaboromon strikes back would be a thing at the time, and after the attention pokemon the first movie raised they HAD to show something. They could have spliced in the best bits from adventure to prolong the running time to the minimum feature length, but again execs wanted to promote the 02 kids...

Honestly it looks kinda like Spirit Evolutions. Not helped by the human faces which were very common in Frontier.

man, I hope the shading on Agumon's evolution in that frame doesn't mean it looks too flesh-colored because otherwise eep. That plus the faces is what makes them really uncanny.

Judging by the clip, they're just going to PUNCH REALLY HARD and that'll fix the problem and bad guy fight.
Id be fine with it if they fused with their partners. More human cause they are part human.

They REALLY look like something out of Frontier, and not in a good way. In a "Frontier did something to Digimon's artstyle that took years for the franchise to get past, and this is a BRUTAL relapse" kind of way. They look almost identical to each other, aside from the Garurumon and Greymon themed helmets. What are they called?

It’s weird how they just got rid of the iconic elements of the Greymon & Garurumon lines.
Even Frontier’s Emeperorgreymon & Magnagarurumon made sure to give the former a BFS & the latter a fucking rocket-carrier for a arm.
These don’t even have any visible weapons.

On the other hand, I suppose final forms that go Bare-Fisted Monk are kind of rare.
I'm torn on Agumon's form but it's odd to me to see Gabumon in a bipedal form. And that confuses me because I like Were Garurumon's design.
Cress Garurumon and Metal Garurumon X already existed tho.
Forgot about the latter but didn't know about the former.

Strangely, I think I might like these forms more if they were more humanoid. As in, we could see their full faces as opposed to just their lower faces which is always the case with human digimon. Hell, make them look like Tai and Matt if we're going with the "Digimon are just extensions of the humans" thing.

Reminder that the grand final battle of Tri was just Ordinemon standing still as Omnimon made sushi out of it.

I won't deny that fight was over quick and was one-sided, but even just watching it shows that "Ordinemon just stood there" isn't quite accurate. It tried to create balls of energy for an attack, and Omnimon just destroyed them with its cannon.
The movie was actually my intro into the Digimon franchise.
I was kind of disappointed to find out Willis creating Diaboramon was a dub creation. I liked the idea of a Digidestined accidentally creating an evil digimon. I would have liked to see him as the Sixth Ranger for the 02 gang though I do like Ken.
