BlazBlue and Guilty Gear are definitely up there as series that really need to make a comeback, especially since Ragna VS Sol did do them kinda dirty and there has not been another fighting game episode for way to long now.
Aside from that, One Piece and Bleach did have some showings but they still feel rather underrepresented compared to how often Naruto and Dragon Ball have been on.
Personally if they bring Guilty Gear back my picks would be Ky and Slayer.
For Blaz Blue, beyond Ragna getting a redemption run, I'd want Terumi or Hakumen.
TBH I wanna see Azrael the most. His Worthy Opponent mentality plus all his powers could really be something to behold. It's just that.. well, he doesn't have a lot of options when it actually comes to potential opponents.
So another angel being? Maybe have him fight Whis in a DBX?
"I just need one of you to come here to give your life to the sun god. It will be for the monkey city's glory."Azrael does have Kenpachi as an opponent, who ironically stomps him.
Honestly, never undesrtood what was actually making Azrael strong or what he even is. The story glosses over it, he gets randomly introduced into the plot as some impossibly strong dude who wants to fight powerful opponents... and that's it. That is all there is to him. No one knows why he is so strong, he's just is.
Not to mention that even his strength is kinda poorly defined. Yeah, he broke out of a dimensional prison with his bare hands, but... What does it even mean? How would you quantify breaking out of dimension? What is the dimension in this case? How significant is his increase in strength when he lifts off his limiters? We don't really know.
It probably would've been interesting to see him face Enkidu from Under Night In-Birth as they share a lot of traits (buff, dark-skinned, bare-chested brawlers who grew too strong and are constantly seeking powerful opponents for the enjoiment of battle at the same time wearing special limiters that seal off their true strength) while being polar opposites in terms of temperament (Azrael is a loud brute with simple and savage fighting style, while Enkidu is a calm and collected martial artist who relies more on his skill and refined techniques in a fight). That said, while Enkidu is regarded as powerful fighter in his series (especially considering he doesn't have nearly as potent supernatural abilities as other characters) he doesn't have the reputation of being the "strongest" or defying common sense with his sheer strength.

There's also Akuma, though I don't think they'll bring him back anytime soon.
That being said, there's also Raiden Tameemon, though the scaling there is extremely wonky considering how their gods are compared to other media.

Citation needed on that one.
Azrael peaks at around Planet and FTL.
Kenpachi is at least Large Planet and MFTL, and depending on where you push Bleach stats, probably higher.
Sung Jin-Woo vs. Vecna
Hero vs. villain battle between necromancers of ever-growing power. One gets more powerful by leveling up, the other is continuously studying and learning magic.
Extremely crack-ish, I know
I always thought Shang Tsung was always due for a comeback, and after MK 11 and MK 1 2023, he is more than deserving of it.
But against who?
I've seen names like The Mandarin or Kai (Kung Fu Panda 3), but The Mandarin seems like a good pick.
As I said, Kefka is my fav for Shang Tsung, easily.
Titan Shang Tsung has legitimate claim to being the strongest kombatant in the franchise, for what it's worth.
#IceBearForPresidentSo were just using Titan Shang Tsung.
He's undeniably getting all the scaling due to, well you know, being a Titan. Being a God in MK makes you immune to Time Manipulation, he dwarfs Shao Kahn's max potential, destroying and merging realms (don't know if we count a realm as a universe or not) and having control of the hourglass possibly gives him the future knowledge as he deduced that Liu Kang's plan started when he used it for Shang Tsung to win. Hell, the soul crown alone gave him enough of a boost to destroy Shao, Sindel, a Centrion boosted Kronika and in one timeline, defeat Fire Thunder God Liu Kang.
Final Fantasy stuff is crazier though, no?
True, but I wouldn't say for sure if Kefka is one of them given the range of destruction in his game boiled down to the planet at best.
Buuuut, given it's Final Fantasy, somehow he has a super attack that's universal or something.
Depends on how you scale it.
Titan Shang Tsung has some crazy high feats, but all his stuff is shown to be pretty small he's in a fighting game. They just say he can merge realms and stuff, whatever that means.
Meanwhile we straight up see Kefka casually raze entire islands as he rakes the Light of God Judgement across the planet.

#IceBearForPresidentSee, what we see Kefka do in FFVI is exactly the reason why I feel Caster of Limbo/Ashiya Douman would be a better MU.

Kefka and Shang at peak are both Multiversal+ and Infinite Speed and can do basically all the same shit.
It's basically a battle between two complete equals with almost nothing they can't do.
I get the feeling that you’re highballing them way higher then what’s generally agreed upon.
I always thought Kefka was, at best, Planet Level since he is described as being powered by the World's Magic Pool, and we he died, so did the magic.
I don't think Mortal Kombat even has any infinite speed feats.
Technically just being able to control time would have made it a moot point... but Kefka at his strongest is immune to any and all Time Manipulation shenanigans.
My pick for the Mandarin's opponent is usually Ra's al Ghul.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks Marathon
FFXIII is probably one of the better ones to use for Death Battle because it was a trilogy, so you can use a lot of stuff for Lightning. Lightning's main look in each game is also in Dissidia NT which is on PC for model ripping.
