One of my friends worked on the blog. He was one of the ones who really pushed for Mewtwo winning, and managed to convince people.

I didn't see this anywhere in the blog but since everyone on both sides agreed on this point... what was the rationale behind Zero being more-or-less immune to telekinesis? Was it just sheer durability for that point in his favor?

Zero can counter most of the telekinetic tricks Mewtwo has, but Mewtwo has the stats advantage overall so it doesn't really matter that he can.

That answers mind manipulation, telepathy, and dimension hopping, yeah. But I'm left wondering on telekinesis, since that one's not addressed directly compared to the others but multiple times they say Zero can resist it.

Unless it's just his own teleportation lets him break it. Is that normally a thing in media involving psychic powers? Teleporting out of a psychic chokehold?

Mewtwo and Zero have nothing in common.

I asked, they said Zero had no real immunity to telekinesis. What's stopping Mewtwo from just fucking Zero over with TK?

"Nothing really, since Mewtwo was deemed to be more powerful. Likewise, there's nothing stopping him from blowing him apart with energy attacks, punching him apart as Mega Mewtwo X, or hacking him apart with a spoon. There wasn't really any reason to bring it up specifically, since it's just one method of attack that Mewtwo has among many."

Exept, you know, telekinesis. There's huge difference between conventional physical attacks and psychic attacks. You can see and react to someone shooting or punching you... or just tank it with sufficient durability. You can't react to suddenly being in midair or having your squishy organs destroyed.

Manchester Black could actually hurt Superman through his telekinesis.

I remember Bender from Futurama being brought up as a potential combatant on the cast in February 2018 (same episode they joked about banning Mickey and Yoda I believe). They said they wanted him to fight Bastion from Overwatch, but what if instead he fought Thundercleese from The Brak Show?

They're both hilariously over-the-top borderline sociopathic robots on opposite sides of the law spectrum, Bender being a shameless crook and Thundercleese being a blood knight that craves as much destruction as possible despite fighting for the earth they live on.

Yea i suppose that makes sense... Not so big on the idea of Rainbow Rocket scaling though I'll say that. Cause it really just flat out seems like the textbook definition of an outlier to me.

Err not exactly outlier but like actual power being ignored for the sake of narrative for a fanservice fight. Iunno maybe i'm just stubborn

Could Mewtwo actually see Stands?

Going by the rules of JJBA, only Stand Users can see Stands. It's possible that Mewtwo could sense them with its psychic powers, and maybe become able to see them by brain-jacking a Stand User, but on its own...? I'd say no, at least not initially.

Even in the case where they argued for Kenshiro to see them by his ability to sense other auras, Mewtwo hasn't really shown anything similar to that. The only Pokemon that would most likely be able to see Stands would be like Lucario and Medicham. Mewtwo can learn Aura Sphere, but that's him using his own energy, not able to see others.

Though if you wanna take the Detective Pikachu movie version into account, he could do some soul fuckery on Diavolo similar to how Chariot Requiem did.

However, using his psychic powers, he could theoretically block a Stand used from calling out their Stand. Even better, he might be able to force Doppio out and completely suppress Diavolo

I don't watch Jojo's and even I know King Crimson is crazy bullshit.

Diavolo & Hit from Dragon Ball actually have very similar powers.

He is bullshit, but I dont see how he can get one over on someone that can read his mind. If Diavolo looks ten seconds into the future, MewTwo can just read what happens. Deleting time wont even help disorient him then. Diavolo might know what MewTwo is going to do, but that wont help him because MewTwo knows everything Diavolo is going to do. Strange, isn't it!?

Everyone goes on and on whether Shadow can time stop first before Mewtwo reads his mind and vice versa.
