The inconsistency is a feature, not a bug. Both versions are expanding on Kasady's original dialogue in Maximum Carnage where he notes that he killed his mother for killing his father for trying to kill him, then asks, "Or was it the other way around?"

He doesn't actually know. One of his parents killed another one of his parents for attacking him, and he killed that surviving parent. Maybe. Who really knows? The only surviving witness is a serial killer for lulz that has openly admitted to not remembering how it went, so maybe none of it happened.

And then he burned down the boys' home he was sent to, 'cause that's how Kasady rolls. He is hilarious in his dedication to being a one-dimensional f*ckhead. Kasady is the kind of villain who will 100% kick a puppy and then skip off giggling to himself about how cool that was. I've gotten some solid laughs out of how casually horrible he is.

Like Carnage U.S.A.'s fantastic line, "Oh, shit! I forgot! I was supposed to kill that guy's entire family!"

Or don't forget AXIS, where when inverted to be a hero, Carnage's logic on stopping a bank robbery was to immediately burn it down so no one could rob it.

Kasady reminds me of the Joker. Can you imagine what would happen if the latter got his hands on the Carnage Symbiote instead of the former?

Indeed many moments of humor can be found just from how absolutely sadistically bonkers Cletus is.

So looking at that preview its looking like Carnage may snag the win. Sure Lucy is doing a bang up job not letting him get a hit in but she is noticeably getting more exhausted as the fight goes on while Carnage ain't letting up meaning this may turn into a war of attrition where Lucy will inevitably create an opening for Carnage to deal the killing blow.

The worry lies in Carnage is the one who escalates the fight first by going full power & there is the rule where that if you go first you lose meaning Lucy may win just by entering her full power & brute forcing it.

There was a Batman/Spider-Man crossover where Carnage appeared in.

Those two did not get along, either. Kasady's brutality and sadism disgusted the Joker, while Joker's penchant for theatricality and performance bored Kasady.

Also not surprised about Lucy coming out strong. Though I haven't watched Elfen Lied, I understand she's pretty much no nonsense when it comes to killing people. Straight to the point, whether you're good, bad, or just randomly in the way...I hear some poor Dojiko in the wrong place at the wrong time got murdered without so much as a how do you do? Unfortunately, that method of Kill you instantly doesn't mean too much to someone who can actually tank it like Carnage can.

As I recall, the dojikko was working at a secret facility for torturing 'Lucy' specifically and the dicloni more generally so there's sort of a 'damned by association' going on there. Its supposed to be kind of a shocking 'oh no that poor idiot' moment but the poor idiot was working at a torture factory.

I don't recall it being very secret. They held daily experiments where they catapulted spiked balls at naked girls. And yes the setting and nearly everyone in it is terrible. And the terribleness was serially escalating. So that some terrible people from the beginning of the series ended up seeming reasonable when worse people came out of the woodwork

Because of the constant torture, or is there evidence they can be dickish without Humans attacking them? I mean, Lucy slaughtered what-his-name's family, but I was under the impression that as awful as that was (and he never forgives her for it apparently) she was already incredibly messed up before hand by torture and it took very little to set her off.

Eh, RX-78-02 vs Optimus is a poor matchup if you ask me. The two look similar superficially, but that's about it; the Gundam is just a real robot tool/vehicle for a kid with slight Force powers, whereas Optimus is a living, sentient, transforming, super robot Jesus being unto itself that resurrects from the dead and other shit like that.

IMO it would be better to do Gundam vs Robotech, or if they insist at least use the Zeta Gundam since it also transforms.

I think the base for the fight is "the most iconic robots of the 80's duke it out because it's radical as frick" and that's that. No deeper thematic similarities, the matchup just exists because it'd be cool as f*ck to see Optimus Prime throw down with the Gundam.

Though when Ben asked on Twitter who Optimus should fight a few months ago, it seemed like variants of "a Gundam" or "RX-78-2 specifically" were the most common answers. So that's probably part of it as well.

Oh I certainly get that. It is indeed hype and cool as fuck.

But then there's the question of how are they going to handle Optimus? Are they going to mishmash stuff from all his various appearances, or just stick with G1? Likewise with the Granddaddy, though I think its only significant enough variant is the FA Gundam in Thunderbolt.

I feel like with Optimus Prime they will stick to G1. Because trying to unpack all of the Transformers material to try to find a composite would be a fool's errant.
