As has been stated here repeatedly it's not just centrists who take issue with Sanders. And while I am a centrist I guess, that's not why I don't approve of Sanders.

Usually, I'm the first one to say that Bernie supporters have a victim complex, but we did just have like three people in the thread outright say that they hate some aspects of Bernie and his supporters, so...

Still, the "centrist Dems", if we're talking about the actual Democrats in office, don't have anything against Bernie or any other progressive Democrat. Honestly, the fact that this whole thing comes from Warren (albeit not directly from her) should indicate pretty hard that it's not about where he is on the political spectrum, since she's just as far left as he is. I can totally believe that Bernie would say something thoughtless and insensitive like that, wouldn't be the first time, Warren remains my front-runner.

He would. The man's got flaws and I find it hard to believe Warren is lying in this case. But anyone who claims that the media hasn't made stuff up about Sanders are either lying or idiots.

Tactical said he hated Bernie PERIOD. M84 implied that most Bernie supporters are rabid fanatics. They're not exactly being honest in their assessment.

Centrists have been in charge of the dems for years. It's time they were shown the door.

I freely admit that my opinion of Sanders is not a favorable one. Pretty much because of all of the reasons I've listed before for people not liking him. They all bother me to some degree.

And you can complain about it when it happens. But this isn't one of those times, so don't try to deflect.

It HAS happened and I HAVE brought it up. He criticized Jeff Bezos and pointed out that media outlets owned by Bezos didn't touch on his cruel policies. The papers in question got aggrieved because HOW DARE HE IMPLY THAT JEFF BEZOS MIGHT HAVE INFLUENCED THEM AND WHAT THEY COULD WRITE....when yeah Corporations that own media outlets DO regularly use their influence to kill stories they don't like.

I was also pointing out Kamala's shitty criminal justice record; you ignored the arguments because the sources were "too far left". Even when you admitted Kamala had problems you still slammed the sources even though you admitted their arguments were actually correct in that case.

So yeah. Please don't pretend to be reasonable.

Then don't try to downplay or deflect from this incident. That's what you're doing by trying to claim "media bias" in a situation that doesn't seem to have any.

And yeah, I slammed those sources because said sources were shit. I waited for more reputable sources and evidence and changed my mind based on said evidence. That's pretty reasonable.

But you're automatically assuming the worst about Sanders, and have repeatedly scoffed at sources that were "too far left." So you're being incredibly dishonest, as I said in my previous post. You're not reasonable in the slightest and you seem to view progressive democrats as a threat.

Then why bring up "media bias" in the past? Just acknowledge that Bernie may have fucked up.

And so what if I don't trust heavily biased sources with an agenda? I don't see how that's a bad thing. I don't trust FOX News, Reason, or most British tabloids either.

Actually, as it turns out, there isn’t any evidence supporting the assertion that Sanders is being treated unfairly by the media. [1] [2]

He receives either the 3rd or 4th most positive coverage out of 8 Democratic candidates from the top 5 most read news outlets, and like in 2016 his coverage numbers accurately reflect his polling compared to other candidates.

Female candidates are treated far less fairly by the media, as are minority candidates.

If someone is telling you the media treats Bernie the least fairly out of all the candidates that’s their victim complex talking.

Because it helps explain why some people are skeptical about the media in this case. If media outlets have lied before why not now? I believe he messed up here but I'm not surprised that people are skeptical.

Given that the DNC hates the guy I fully expect them to up the ante.

The DNC is an organization run by older more centrist leaning dems. They clearly want Biden as their candidate, with Warren as the acceptable second choice.

Based on that no it's not that shocking that they might have a heart attack if he DOES win the nomination, or that they might try to dog pile him

You're overestimating how much control they have though. They clearly wanted Clinton in 2008 but we got Obama out of nowhere instead.

And Sanders of course did extremely well in the 2016 primaries.

See, this is another reason people have trouble putting up with Sanders supporters.

You can hate the DNC all you want, but it's still a conspiracy theory to assume that they're rigging the media against Sanders (which is demonstrably untrue, according to the studies linked).

The studies covered June to September. Where's the followup? If the survey shows the same thing now okay.

Where's your study showing that they do have bias against him? You're the one making the claim, you have the burden of proof.

To be fair to Sanders though, I think it's pretty likely that these flames of resentment are actively being stoked by Russian trolls.

Yes, that's a point to consider. Some of it is likely Kremlin interference.

Interestingly, showing facts to people who believe in a conspiracy theory doesn’t change their mind like you might think. It actually hardens their belief in the conspiracy.

Media coverage trends over the past several years up to about two months ago point to Sanders being treated fairly. There is literally zero evidence of a media conspiracy against him, except in the minds of true believers.

Not really. For June - Sep 09 the polls WERE accurate. Has there been any followup? Quite a few candidates have dropped out since that time some may have coalesced around Biden.

Yeah, you instead have to confront them about why they are so invested in said conspiracy theory. Why do they need it to be true.
