Technically no one knows much about them outside the website descritions and the stuff Lauren's posted on her deviantArt page like the "Press release" pictures/descriptions.

Still, there are tropes to be had!

[up] I don't think the Magical Girl trope belongs on that page. No where does the official info say they're magical, and just because they can skate IN SPACE doesn't nessacarily mean they're magical, you know!

EDIT: Oh snap, Equestria Daily already linked to the page you made! ...Are you Sethisto in disguise?

A good writer puts in a lot of details in there story. But a great one gets a story from a single detail.

Seriously Fallen Legend, dont add stuff if you dont know anything about the show. There may not be such a thing as notability, but there is such a thing as not adding erroneous information.

[up][up]Nopwaii I asked him to link it becuase I wanted bronies to be aware of Lauren's other proyectsgrin. Milky way seemd like a Magical Girl to me in a storyboard of lauren but I could be wrong.

[up]Well not exactly I did made some research(saw both videos, read some interviews, visited the offical DA and the official site were I got the article's picture etc) what I meant is that I am not sure how it all plays out, mainly becuase I haven't bought the book (yes there is abook).

I think this is getting a bit heated. Don't worry I hardly ever put work pages..What's done is done.

Peace?

I think there was a misunderstanding here. I am not obeying you.

But I hardly ever if ever create work pages anyway(galaxy girls was the first one). Hence the reason I am calling for peace.

If you do insist to argue I am calling the mods. Because this is derailing the thread.

[up]You know, this show might not even get made. unless Faust pulls some money together herself, and starts her own site for animated fare. That way, she doesn't become victimized by a commitee whose only interest is in how greedy they can be and how stupid they can make those they're SUPPOSED to entertain look.

This is especially since I don't see any major network that plays animation of any kind would take this in, unless to commitee drive it to death, especially because of it being girl-centric.

Sad, but true. And before you tell me to bugger off, I'm offering this again - Faust and a small crew create a pay-to-view website and do this themselves to avoid any kind of BS from Execs.

Also, yeah. I wouldn't go crazy with this, if I were you.

[up]I am just supporting faust. But jasson thiessen hinted that she might be working on this in an interview. Phineas and ferb took years to get picked up too and it did.

With the sucess of mlpfim I would n't be surprised if hasbro picked it up through the hub.

Actually, Lauren Faust has posted a small description of what the storyline would be if a animated adaption was made on her deviantart profile a long way back. Here it is:

"Milky Way’s joy in life is to explore her realm, meet new friends and find adventure. While visiting our Solar System for the very first time, Milky comes across a beautiful, small planetoid. But when she touches it, it shatters into 11 pieces, releasing the villain who was imprisoned inside, the massively destructive and terrifying BLACK HOLE!!!

Milky must find the pieces of the planetoid and re-imprison this threat to the known universe, but the fragments have been hurled to each of the planets of the star system that surrounds her. As she searches for them, she meets each and every one of the Galaxy Girls, and each girl must use her unique talents to help Milky retrieve the fragments and save the Universe from being sucked in and devoured by Black Hole’s evil vortex!"

So there is a story being told here... It's just that it hasn't started yet.

[up] That explains the storyboard stuff I saw. It really sounds very interesting. I wonder if milky will meet the girls on earth or on their respetive planets.

Perhaps earth will be revealed at the end.

At that rate, the girls represent different bodies in the universe, but that makes me puzzled. What do they call the planet they live on?

Gentlemen, gentlemen, and present ladies if any, have we learned nothing from the ponies? Love & Tolerance.

Anyways, I did reword the description on the Milky Way And The Galaxy Girls page. Its a toyline first, and should treated as such at the moment since there is no animated series (though rumor has it...)

Anyways, I finally found that article I was looking for! The one that says that Friendship Is Magic was made because Lauren was pitching a Galaxy Girls cartoon to Hasbro.

...

wild mass guess Lauren Faust is pulling a Chrisopher Nolan, using the My Little Pony franchise as a stepping stone to make her dream show, Galaxy Girls. wild mass guess

This becomes even more confusing if you consider Milky Way should theoretically represent her friends as well as everything else in the galaxy because she's, well, the Milky Way Galaxy!

I assume they're just in a setting where everyone has an Awesome Mc Cool Name, but then you have this, a blog entry written by Jupiter, about Jupiter losing one of its cloud belts, which also happens to be one of Jupiter's dogs.

Maybe its best not to think about it too much.

I just assume that as anthropomorphic reprensentations of celestial bodies, whatever happens to one happens to the other and viceversa. And if Jupiter's dog = one of the planet's belts, then I can buy Milky being the representation of the Milky Way Galaxy as a whole.

Also, if Black Hole turns out to be a reference to the supermassive black hole at the center of the galaxy then I expect a "Milky, I am your Mother" moment.

I don't know why but I imagine "Black Hole" would be a very large woman that eats everything. I do think that Lauren should focus on one show at a time so she wouldn't have two different products at once.
