Yeah, the digital distribution bit is awesome. Just overshadowed by potentially horrible news.

Ideal situation: They keep everyone's origins and current status quo, but just sorta ignore everything in the middle so they can write awesome stories without worrying about decades worth of continuity and decisions.

From a new Comics Alliance article on the subject:

In an interview with USA Today, Dan Di Dio stated that while roughly three-quarters of titles will see a creative team switch-up, one quarter — the books that are working — won't be touched by the reboot.

This, I think, is good news for Morrison's Batman. As well as good news in general.

That's just talking about the creative teams, I think. Their continuities and current storylines will probably still get fingered.

Bah, I was hoping Batman lineup wouldn't be affected by this but the latest rumour of having Barbara Gordon as Batgirl and a new Nightwing series dashes this hope. :(

Unless this is an Ultimate Universe style, I don't know, I guess I'll stop reading DC. Because I really do not want to read a universe run by Geoff Johns and especially Grant Morrison.

Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.

I seriously doubt they'd do that, with oracle's importance to the DCU. I say give it a chance. Wait for more details come out before we start going all Ruined Forever.

I usually trust Bleeding Cool, but you're right they failed to give a source.

If it IS true though, my wallet's getting heavier.

Geoff Johns is in charge of the reboot. Nothing good can come of this, he's half the reason DC is desperately in need of a reboot lately. Also, I hope there aren't any fans of Wally West, Kyle Rayner, Cassandra Cain, or Oracle here, because dollars to donut they'll all be *gone*.

Latest from the rumor mill: Superman may be breaking up with Lois and hooking up with Wondy. Hopefully no devils will be involved, but Alex Ross might be...

Also, I've heard speculation that this reboot may be connected to the legal issues with Superman, as two years from now the rights to him will revert to the estates of the original creators.

My question- Why?

Green Lantern and Batman have just had their mythos expanded in interesting ways will this reboot change any of the backstory that makes those events so epic in the first place?

If this isn't revealed to be just an alternate universe, I may flip a shit.

You should probably not get so upset. Most of the things you are upset about is pure speculation.

And look on the bright side! This may get rid of Cry For Justice!

So what will they call this one? The really final crisis?

This would actually be the best thing ever for DC if done right. It probably won't be, of course.

Digital distribution is good, though.

The problem with reboots like this one is that if they revert DC back to basics— Hal Jordan as the main Lantern, Babs as Batgirl, etc. is that they get rid of all the diversity along with it. The new Justice League, from what I've heard, has all of one woman and one black guy. If they revert the Bat-books back to pre-Killing Joke days, they get rid of Cass Cain, Damian Wayne, Batwoman and Oracle as one of the only prominent disabled characters in comics. I don't want a DCU that's permanently stuck in 1972.

Actually, digital distribution is only good if it doesn't kill print comics. 'Cuz that would suck.
