Agreement.
Motion to pull image.
Caption does all of the work due to poor images. Both still require knowledge of the shows in question.
Fight smart, not fair.I'm more concerned that it's not an In-Universe example of the trope.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Seconding vote to pull.
Well, I see it's already been pulled...any thoughts on a replacement, or should we just leave it be?
I could've sworn this trope's original image was a panel of Star Trek at a Doctor Who convention above a panel of Doctor Who at a Star Trek convention
Always think outside the box. Because the box is full of scorpions.I think that a few panels from this strip could demonstrate it well: http://xkcd.com/372/
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Posting pulled image on the thread, because it's good form to:
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyI think the XKCD comic gets as darn close as you can get to illustrating such a nebulous trope.
Get a slant at this glossary of Pulp Detective terms. It rates. Pipe that?It got pulled? Okay.
Fight smart, not fair.Deboss' pic works fine for me.
I like xkcd.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI'm fine with the xkcd as well.
First key to interpreting a work: Things mean things.Bump. Still fine with it.
First key to interpreting a work: Things mean things.Deboss for the win.
Please.Same here.
XKCD works great.
Reaction Image RepositoryGood enough. The pic is up, potholed, and tagged; caption or no?
I know I'm late to the discussion, but how about trimming the top panel off of the XKCD pic? Just the last two get the point across fine.
Man, this should've been closed a long time back; locking up.
This is an extreme case of JAFAAC: There's no indication at all in either of the images that it's an example of this trope. The first image is some guy watching TV, and the second image is two people with a shiny thing in the background.
