There's quite a lot of comments calling it fake, and I'm pretty sure the image of a Tekken 8 logo is a fan image that was already in circulation.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyThen I apologize for having linked it. Will delete it.
EDIT: Fixed

GET READY FOR THE NEXT BATTLE!
TEKKEN: BLOODLINE IS DROPPING AUGUST 18TH!
So, outside of Leroy, it's very much Tekken 3 based, which fits in with what we already knew.
Got to see a few more characters, and they seem to be going without legitimate Martial Artist Paul rather than goofy joke Paul.
One Strip! One Strip!Could be overcocky martial artist Paul, but that rrmains to be seen. I didnt expect to see Feng Wei join the fray too, and watching all those combos with the hitsparks sent shivers. Really looking forward to this!
I don't think it's based on Tekken 3 or it's very loosely related to Tekken 3. Main cast's outfits(i.e. Julia, Xiaoyu, Hwo, Nina) and Leeroy's appearance suggest more later series
Does that mean I don't get the job?Considering that what we know of the plot reflects Jin's storyline in 3 (mom killed by Ogre, goes to Heihachi to become strong enough to take revenge), I'd say it's taking the lions share of its plot from three.
Leeroy's presence does argue that there are going to be later plot points in the story however.
One Strip! One Strip! The weird "pyramid"-like shading is...well yeah, and there are some parts that look pretty rough. Still though. Might be better than what other Tekken media we've had before.
I'm quite confident in my shitposting you knowI do like the fact that Jin doesn't seem to be quite as much of an edgelord as the later games made him.
As for what it's based on, it's pretty clear that it's mostly Tekken 3, with elements of later games.

Good:
- Looks like the most accurate Tekken adaption so far with zero unnecessary elements.
- Additions like Leroy and Tekken 7 Julia make the cast feel more distinct.
- Jin's story is easier to sympathize with than Kazuya's.
- Animation looks great and has plenty of nods to the games (the hit sparks, the moves).
- Director hasn't tried to make this "their version" of Tekken or championed how different it s going to be, and in the wake of Netflix's Resident Evil, 2022's Uncharted, Amazon's Halo series, and Mortal Kombat 2021, we need a faithful video game adaption.
- Leroy
Bad:
- Looks like another Tekken spin-off/adaption that's not going to move the story or characters forward, or do anything interesting with their personalities.
- We're skipping Tekken 1 and 2 and jumping right to 3?
- If it's anything like Bloodline Rebellion then the Mishima conflict is going to be a lot of grunts, fists, and bluster about true strength with no philosophical substance (see every line of dialogue between Kazuya, Jin, and Heihachi in Bloodline Rebellion)
- Didn't Tekken 3 have the weird characters like Alex the boxing kangeroo and a dinosaur?

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).
Didn't Tekken 3 have the weird characters like Alex the boxing kangeroo and a dinosaur?
Nope. They came from Tekken 2. Tekkens 5-6 have the wife and son of the kangaroo (the playable character is the son but he has to mostly let his mother do the fighting when you use him). The non-canon Tekken Tag Tournament 2 has all the kangaroos and the dinosaur.

Pretty sure they were talking about Gon, who was definitely in the third game. There's also Doctor Boskonovitch, whose moveset definitely puts him in the weird characters category.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.I updated the Soul Cal entry on Men Get Old, Women Get Replaced. I'll do so for Tekken soon, too.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyMore like Men gets old, Women stays same for Tekken. Nina looks exactly same for more then 20 years.
Does that mean I don't get the job?Nina and Anna were put into cryosleep so they couldn't age. Every other female character didn't return for a canon game and was replaced. Every male character returned for at least one canon game, even if it meant they'd be over 100 (Wang).
Done with my edit, and I noticed Lidia is the biologically oldest female fighter at 29. (Master Raven, Katarina and Kazumi's ages are unknown, Eliza is a vampire) I remember when Lidia was first announced, prior to the full reveal, hoping she'd be at least in her late 30s to finally have an older woman. Technically she still is the oldest woman, but only barely. Nina is biologically 24.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyGET READY! FOR BALANCE UPDATES TO TEKKEN 7...AND TEKKEN 8!!!
Edited by TargetmasterJoe on Aug 7th 2022 at 8:34:16 AM
With Kazuya’s presence and popularity growing more than ever, I wonder if Tekken 8 will even be about Jin taking him down at all, as Tekken 7 ended building it up.
Harada getting in on the shaking action!
Patch coming out in 10 days sounds interesting. I wonder what "new tactics" will entail.
As for Tekken 8, I hope Jun/known comes back!
BTW throughout EVO Tekken 7 (including "definitive" version) has been 85% off.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyHow the hell is knee on top of the tekken scene while he's almost 40 years old? It's boggles my mind.
Does that mean I don't get the job? It's the Devil Gene, friend. Obviously it's what's making him look 20 years younger.
Real talk, holy crap, just teasing Tekken 8 out of the blue like that. And using one of the weirder/goofier moments in Tekken history to lull us all into a sense of confusion, too. That takes real cojones.
Cool.
Now the big question: Are they going to keep Heihachi?
Probably yes but it's interesting that the teaser makes it look like yes, Heihachi being dead means Kazuya is the big man in town...for now at least.
Uni catBandai namco twitter post shows that next new teaser should be out in Feb. 2023.
Does that mean I don't get the job? Can't wait to see how Harada knocks us off our feet with DLC characters.
In all seriousness, I can't wait to see what the game has in store.
Help me. I can't get it out of my head.
Deleted contents of this post because I seemingly fell for fake news. For that I apologize again.
