So, the movie is out. I've heard it's about 1 hour and 45 minutes, and it's pretty good. Also, spoilers are out if you really want them.

Being an optimist is not as fun as it goes.Cool. So the movie aired back in April. Any idea of when the DVD and Blu Ray will be released?
Probably around October.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFmGNqji4u0Is the series finished? Does the story have closure?
Thanks, one more question. How is the anime compared to the visual novel, which is better?
Overall I found the VN to be better, but the anime is a great adaptation. I always recommend both to people.
Also, it seems the Japanese Blu-Ray for the movie is gonna have English subs included!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFmGNqji4u0I think the VN is significantly better and contains more material, but the anime is still a good substitute.
Ok, so I've started playing/reading the visual anoval and as a person who has never read a VN before I have a question. Is there any interaction in visual novels? I've been playing for about half an hour and all I've been doing up till now is clicking. Will I be presented with any choices in dialogue or actions made by the character or will it be just clicking all the way till the end?
I know this question might soung quite ignorant, but as I said, I don't have any experience with visual novels.
You should be presented with dialogue choices, and I believe Steins;Gate has some gameplay gimmick.
The Steins Gate VN is pretty unique even among V Ns. It's the things you do on your phone that matter. The words you respond to in the text messages are important (and also whether or not you check it in front of Kurisu on more than one occasion).
Once you get to the time leaping section you should see what branches you off to other endings, depending on whether or not you actually leap at certain points.
I'd recommend a walkthrough to get to the true end.

Steins Gate actually doesn't really have direct choices unlike most visual novels. What it does have is the phone and if you don't use it you're not going to get the ending you want. For example, you'll enter the Amane route every time if you don't use your phone and never get past that.
"and also whether or not you check it in front of Kurisu on more than one occasion" Should I or should I not?
Depends on what you're trying to do. Look for a walkthrough.

The think about not responding to messages while talking to Kurisu. Does it mean I can't even look who sent the message, or can I look but not read it. Or read it but not answer it?
That's actually false, bringing up your phone in front of Kurisu doesn't change anything.
And the first part is the prologue, where there are no phone triggers. Those come in chapter 1.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFmGNqji4u0I'm sure I remember checking your phone cutting off Kurisu's dialogue before the time leaping section. Am I misremembering? Or are you just saying that's purely a dialogue thing, not significant?
I think checking your phone at the end (in front of her?) determines whether or not you get the Kurisu ending or the True ending. The Kurisu ending sucks.
No, it's whether you answer her text or not in chapter 10.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFmGNqji4u0I remember that during one dialogue with her my phone rang (must've been Moeka) and I didn't answer it. To which Kurisu responded that I have good maners. So I know it as least has an affect on dialogue if not the ending.
What would happend if I didn't send the e-mail from FB to Moeka?
It looks like there will be some by looking at the trailer.
