Not wanting to wait for a level 4 special to charge? Sometimes you just need that final tier of element to seal something.

Level 4 only charges while you're at max affinity with your Blade, and then only when not actively using Driver Arts.

Even if you meet the conditions for Level 4, though, you may want to use a Level 3 if you're rushing to meet the deadline before the combo timer runs out.

You'll be getting Chain Attacks soon. But first, you'll have to get past a particularly large monster. Hope you've mastered Driver combos by now!

Boze's Ignorance is the one time I'm willing to use the lower monster difficulty option, because that mission is dumb, and I don't want to spend time grinding electric res augments. Why is that a level 37 mission again?

Because HB, Alexa, Boze and Yelv were DLC characters in the original release and the last two were a few weeks after release.

Big balance issue.

I know they're DLC, but the level/difficulty discrepancy still bugs me. Yelv's final boss is an ass too, but his feels more appropriate and is at a more reasonable level.

Also, you can fly a skell in from above and just smite it like an angry god.

You don't have to buy the latest electric-proof gear to survive, just make sure it's all electric-proof, and you're good to go!

Finally killed Sniping Brent. And it gave me a Common Core Crystal. Not worth it at all.

The better sources of core crystals comes in Chapter 4. But in the meantime, do every sidequest you can before reaching Fonsa Myma.

Defeated Arachno Elder. Not as hard as Sniping Brent. I think I got the Elemental combos down. I gave an Aux Core to Adenine so she can reach Lv.3 Special faster.

I'm thinking about replacing Nia with Vandham, but he doesn't open up as many combos as Nia and is rather slow to boot.

Topple may get a while to get a hang of. I don't know how I feel about the DPS being the Toppler.

Keep Nia. If you want to use Vandham, replace Rex or Tora. Of course, this assumes you want to go after Driver Combos over Blade Combos.

This is the first time a Van character is playable in a Monolith Soft Xeno game, right?

Oh yeah, might as well mention my Skell names. The level 20 junk is Finch. The level 30s are Dromarch, Pandoria, Brighid, and Aegeon. Now that I'm level 50, my new ride is the Pyra. Naturally getting a Phoenix was the first thing I did.

Not the Mythra.

We all know it's the superior model.

Name the Ares 90 "KOS-MOS".

My other level 50s are going to be Jin, Haze, and either Minoth or T-elos. Mythra gets the honor of the Ares 90. If I go further with some even stronger Skells I've got Poppi, KOS-MOS, and Pneuma waiting for them.

No Poppi or Roc?

Probably should've named the level 20 Roc, but I forgot about that bird, so ah well.

Godfrey would be one of those low-level enemy Skells.

In my first playthrough of Xenoblade 1, I mostly stick to Shulk/Dunban/Sharla.

After I learned about Topple Lock and additional skill trees, my favorite team became Shulk/Dunban/Reyn -> Shulk/Dunban/Fiora.

I think I used Melia/Shulk/whoever I wanted Affinity for or Shulk/Reyn/Seven a lot in my first play-though.

Melia's play-style was loads of fun once I learned how to use her. And always thought I needed Shulk because I was worried about lacking Visions.

On my second play-though I had a lot of fun, since I rotated everyone equally (except Riki & Seven for crafting purposes) so I learned how much fun it was to play with Riki's DOT play-style.

I'd make a sentence about "ride" and "pyra" but really there's nothing to add, that's the whole extent of the joke.

An ares 90 to the color scheme of mythra might be pretty cool, though - Never knew what of make of that boi aside from going for full red lights and black frame and calling it Lazengann.
