New update. It's Isabel time!

There does seem to be a bit of a trend among the supernaturally enhanced father characters in the story, of them being convinced that they know best. They're generally not mean spirited about it, but it is very hard to budge them from believing that they alone hold the answer.

Max's father? He comes off as a lot more likely to listen.

And Polaris, admittedly, in part due to the tie to the Marvel mutant, makes me think of Max's magnet spirit... who seems mysteriously powerful, much like a Wight.

Plot Twist: Ángel was (part of) The Angel all along! Which, you know, sounds kinda obvious when you write it out like that.

Y'know, after the Davy and Penny reveals, I thought to myself, "Huh, that's two twists now where the potential for puns acts as foreshadowing for connections between characters (Davy Jones and Penny Spender). I wonder if there are any other potential puns that can be found..." Yet I didn't notice the Angel/Ángel connection staring us all in the face lmao.

Could be Angel's unique ability. Her text is rainbow, what if her true energy color is also rainbow and thus she and her channelers can be any one color at a time?

The more reverence and kind words a character is given, the more suspicious they become.

So the Sphinx is one great wight, Spender's spirit is another, Boss Leader's wight is a third, and that bear guy last page is a fourth?

There's something going on with Zarei too. Plus the thing from the title page. Granted, we know so little about them that they could be the same.

I don't think that's implying Zarei is controlling a wight, just that it's her modus operandi?

If you're referring to the spirit in the background of panel 4 of that page, that's Sock Puppy.

I also don't think Spender's spirit is a Wight; he already has in that scene, while the concept of a Wight is being explained to him

I think it's likely a fragment of a wight, though. Related in some fashion, at least.

It's worth noting that whatever is in Spender seemingly isn't leeching spectral energy off him. The spirit is constantly ready to pop out and it's only Lucifer actively lightblasting it that's preventing that. It's not a normal spirit, whatever it is; it doesn't work that way.

Addendum: Also wait. Maybe someone brought this up and I just forgot it, but does anyone think Polaris might be in some way related to Scrapdragon? There's not all that much reason to think so, largely that Polaris probably is related to magnetism (among other things) and the idea that he might have had his power stolen and shared out... And Davy either left that bat there or found out about it, which, given he cut up the Great Sphinx, I certainly wouldn't put wanting a piece of something like that past him.

I think I'd give this less than even chances but it's worth mentioning probably.
