I'd be more willing to believe that Big and Blaze are siblings than I would mistake Shadow for Sonic.
Granted, those two could be siblings too.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Plenty of people react to Shadow as "huh, Sonic has gone edgy now" before learning he is a separate character, after all.
Having Big use all the Sol emeralds to become Burning Big is hillarious though, the first time, I know why it's a cliche.
I don't hate the idea of them being alternative universe family, because it allows Blaze to see that she could have led a very different life as someone without any kind of responcibilities.
But the implications that they have alternative versions of the same soul goes a bit far from each other.
I'd prefer it if in one universe an eldest brother had a daughter named Blaze, and in a different universe, the youngest brother had a son named Big.
Well, I forgot this was a thing.
Sonic Channel had a new poll on who'd be the team for next month's isekai ogiri.
Next month would feature Orbot & Cubot and we needed to vote for either Metal Sonic or Gemerl.
It was close, but Gemerl won over Metal Sonic!

I'm not complaining about Gemerl winning but is weird', I didn't hear about this month poll at all.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.> I didn't hear about this month poll at all.
Yeah, that's my fault. I didn't know about the poll until literally today when it was up since June 2nd. I'll have to be careful and watch Sonic's JP Twitter at the last week of the month.
Is Metal Sonic really that unpopular?
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Looking at the poll, apparently it was really close.
Gemerl being an old fan favorite who hasn't been acknowledged by the company in years might have played a factor in him pulling ahead.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.People voting for the character who hasn't appeared in a long time seems to be the theme with for these polls.
And yet Cream lost twice...
But Cream lost two polls.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. One of those polls was against Vanilla, who has way less appearances than Cream. Infinite winning was more of an outlier, and he only won by 0.1%. The fact that he was paired with Shadow, someone with no connection to Cream, probably helped with that.
So basically it's just arbitrary.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Well, yes. Reality is arbitrary. But the human mind is adept at seeing patterns, which are merely an illusion of human perception. The pattern exists in someone's instance of reality so long as that someone perceives it to exist. I perceive the pattern and neither of the couple outliers stop me from seeing it, so the pattern exists. Simple as.

Technically, infinite did have fewer appearances
SoundCloudThat's not really what he said.
What he said was that while being an old but favorite neglected character has consistently caused characters to get support in these, that doesn't make it a lock because there are other factors that can swing votes as well, such as the other character also being a old but favorite neglected character or the two characters potentially featured not really being a good match in the first place. That's not the same as being arbitrary.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Well, if Cream ends up not getting featured in any of these isekai arts, then I don't approve of Infinite winning over her just to be humiliated. Especially since we were robbed of getting to see Shadow and Cream officially interact for the first time. Like, we may never get this chance again. Not unless one of the IDW writers manage to pitch a story that allows Shadow and Cream to interact. Seeing Infinite get humiliated by Shadow, though? Just play Episode: Shadow in Sonic Forces again, or watch it on YouTube. We didn't really need this a second time.

Whenever one character is notably more obscure than the others in these polls, the more obscure character has always won (Pachacamac losing to Chaos is the only outlier to this).
And that, to me, is definitely a sign that it's mainly Sonic fans voting on these polls, wanting to see the characters who just aren't seen as often.

Yeah, it is odd the only two mainstream characters were Amy and Blaze.

To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Just bought two Infinite figurines. And a Cream.
I mean, I bet that's more to do with that particular poll being "best friend vs. worst dad", so...
Yes I am 100% certain that's why the outlier happened. But it's still an outlier.

That's pretty much all they have in common though.
