Uuuhhh, yay?
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Exploit the nerds...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I'm extremely late on this take, but what does everyone think about Sonic Omens?
From polish and a recent game, it looks solid enough (just needs a few more obstacles for the Boost usage), but the more I do research on it, the more I'm seeing so many people divided on it.
A fan game that has a patreon account, and plays like shit.
Not a fan.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Sorry to interrupt but, have you guys seen Charii 5's Sonic Forces Rewrite video? I heard its actually a better idea than the one we got.
You can't kill art.Right here. I'll assure you that you wish you'd get a hand of the script he made.
You can't kill art.If you have the script then show me, because the rewrite is more of an analysis for why it sucked and what not and Charii hosting ideas in how to fix it and not a script of a rewrite.
I gave it a change and I got bored. I'm not a fan of rewrites to begin with, so that may also be it.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Curious question that I'll admit isn't apropos, just a random thought: what do you like about the Sonic franchise?
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Despite my highly cynical attitude, I do love the Sonic series due to the stories and characters, and having a good time with the gameplay and music. Most of my cynicism is based on the fandom and the pandering or the favoritism over certain characters that cheapens the old characters or stories. Because as a comic book reader, I'm used to this.
As of now, I'm highly enjoying the movies, the comics, and enjoyed Mania when I was able to play it.
Regarding my attitude with 06 and Forces, is mostly being tired and annoyed that people still bring it up as if Sega is going to magically fix them or whatever. They are bad games, they are not misunderstood masterpieces and their stories suck, let's just move on.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back. The funny thing is they're bad in different ways. Thanks to the sheer level of brokeness, Sonic 06 has gotten a bit of a second life as a so bad its good game. But Sonic Forces' problem is that its bad in ways that just aren't fun. Its not broken enough to be enjoyable in the same way as 06 or even Sonic Boom.

I see it like this. 06 shoots for something magnificent and falls flat on its face. Forces aims for safe mediocrity (at least with gameplay) and more or less succeeds at it.
Still waiting for a Legion of Losers movie...Gonna be fun to see how the young generation react to 06 nowadays.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. The only thing I'll say about 06 was that it was a better introduction to the series than Chronicles would've been. I'd rather fight Kingdom Hearts 3's data battles than ever touch that game again. And I hate those data battles with a burning passion with the exception of Luxord(he was just boring), Xigbar, and ironically Young Xehanort (both of which are the only ones I like). I'd hate to imagine how things would've went if that disaster was my introduction, especially since when I was young I hated 06 so much I rage quit for at least 3 months. Don't ask me why I decided to keep going despite such an experience, I have no idea.
No rain could douse the flames that burn within me!By the way, I finished Charri's rewrite video. Let me mention the pros, so I don't like like the annoying cynic I'm constantly am.
1. The change of order of events is better, and allows Forces to have a better told story.
2. The inclusion of the Master Emerald being protected on the Resistance base is a genius idea, and one I wish was done in the game. It reminds me of the Tornado base in Sonic X.
3. Amy works more as a commanding officer than Knuckles is, and that's fine. Tails likewise introduces the Wispons and the Wisps's Hyper Go On energy. Shadow and Tails likewise are constantly present, so their exclusion is not done for the sake of "drama" (derailment)
4. Infinite has a better resolution and role. Heck, even Eggman is eating it by tricking Knuckles to put the Master Emerald on his robot, thinking it was the altar.
The bad:
1. Despite Knuckles having a better role that actually rerails his role as guardian of the Master Emerald, Charri preferred to derail Blaze by pointlessly including her in the game rewrite. She's just in the story for no game reason, the Sol Emeralds are not mentioned, and she does absolutely nothing in the story worth mentioning. We return to her godawful characterization from 06, but Charii puts Cream too, so he wants me to think Rush Blaze and 06 Blaze are the same character and GOD NO. If you're not gonna do anything with Blaze, don't include her.
2. The rewrite suffers from the "Dragon Ball fanfic syndrome" where the author puts too much focus on the side characters and not the main ones. Sonic and the Avatar are a bunch of extras in this story. There is so much focus on Team Dark, the Chaotix, "Team Sonic" (knuckles and his two sidekicks, Tails and Avatar).
3. Silver turns Super Silver for no reason, as he barely has a narrative goal pushing him to do so. Sonic and Shadow have the whole beef with Infinite. Also, no Burning Blaze, making Blaze inclusion more baffling.
4. He includes Elise and Prof. Pickle for no reason, other than a forced cameo. At least the GUN Commander makes sense in the story.
There you go. Moral of the story: Don't ever write Blaze as she was Silver's blank slate sidekick.
To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back.Granted, it fits in with the relative lack of ambition with Forces, but it's surprising they didn't bring back the friend focused challenges from Generations. Not only could they have given the game more replay value, but with some tweaking there could have been little character moments that really fleshed out what the resistance had been up to during Eggman's takeover.

Still waiting for a Legion of Losers movie...Plus, a worldwide invasion is a good justification for focusing on an expanded cast
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Which is why such a premise was wasted on a dev that thinks expanded casts are the devil.
I think that was done partly to enhance more of Sonic's message about having each other instead of the game proper where it was a mere platitude thrown around.
As for Blaze herself, well, it be slightly better with the interaction she has with the team.
You can't kill art.
The above is a piece by Yui Karasuno which was shared by SonicOfficialJP to celebrate Team Sonic Racing's third anniversary.
D Oes anyone here feel like wishing for a Team Sonic Racing 2?
You can't kill art.x4 To be fair, that's something the internet browbeat into them. They just took it to the other extreme, thinking it meant no expanded casts ever (except spinoffs).
That, and internet fan rage isn't the best way to gauge honest, thoughtful criticism in the first place.

I'd like to see a sequel too.
Wake me up when there's a new Riders.
Sonic 06 is available to download again, but only through the digital store on Xbox 360.
Why? Who knows, possibly some bucks from hardcore fanboys.
