Question on redirects

I was working on the wicks for p-titled Shogo: Mobile Armor Division, the article had a summary but zero examples and nothing wicked to it. A bit later I noticed that I missed the redirects on the Related page, one for "Shogo" itself and another for the title minus the colon.

Well, having found the examples I started changing the redirects to the main article before it occurred to me that perhaps I shouldn't. Should the redirects be changed to the main article when possible? I know why they exist, in this case the title is long, has the (currently) unsupported punctuation, or perhaps somebody recalls only "a game called Shogo" and can reach the page with that information.

I don't know if the wiki is helped or hindered by "removing" redirects by pointing them at the proper place.

Are you asking that if an article is wicked to its redirect, should those wicks be changed to the main article? The answer is, generally, yes.

Yeah, that's what I was asking. Are there any particular exceptions to "generally, yes"?

Not that I can think of but I'm sure there are some exceptions somewhere. Certainly for works titles there's no reason to leave redirected wicks around. For tropes there are many cases where using redirects is acceptable, like the various tenses of Lampshade Hanging.
