"I think I know what we'll first be performing," he decided.

Kim: (smirking right back) “As do I. And I assume your first song is [Tool]’s ‘[Invincible]’?” (she chuckles) “Oh, don’t worry, Rever. Ian, Evelyn, Milagros and I will do the best we can as well.”

"You crazy?" Curtis demanded. "That's 12 damn minutes of complicated rhythms, shifting keys, and all sorts of absurd stuff! To learn that song, we'd have to learn three vastly different songs!"

"... why would she even guess that song?" Mae asked, tuning her own bass guitar with Julius' help. "She hasn't learned anything about our music tastes aside from what Colton and I waxed. And even then, we waxed [Santana]."

Des struggled to contain his laughter upon seeing the bracket.

"A choir? For real? You may as well have given me a by!"

-Ian enters the Rebel Treble with the bass guitar and drums-

Me: Hey guys. I'm back!

The Rebel Treble, after Ian’s return

Kim: “Ah! Ian! Excellent. Thank you. The bracket is up; if you want to take a look.”

The Rebel Treble

Me: Alright... Lessee who we're up against...

-Ian reads the bracket and sees bands like "Hecate's Harbingers", "Big, Gay and Rich"... and then he finds his name...-

-Beat-

Me: Hoo boy!

The Rebel Treble

Kim: “That’s right, Ian. We’re up against Rever and I couldn’t be happier.”

The Rebel Treble

Me: We're up against Colton's band?

-Beat-

Me: Of course! The new dawn's light casts a shadow... Even if it was by random chance, it's still funny to think about!

The Rebel Treble

Kim: “I... did not think about that, Ian. Anyways, I already have picked out the first song we will do.”

The Rebel Treble

Me: Oh, you did? That's great! What song is it?

The Rebel Treble

Kim: “Well, you could say I picked this one out of my own...” (she smirks, then, in a whisper) “free will.”

(The instant they hear the last two words, Kaylan and Geddy gasp.)

Kaylan: <No way...>

Geddy: (in a whisper) <We’re doing [Rush]?!>

Kim: “Yes, we are.”

Me: Ohohohoho... I like where this is going!

-Evelyn hands Ian back his backpack.-

Me: Thanks, Evelyn.

Evelyn: No prob.

Me: So, Kim... Where do you want me to unpack the instruments?

The Rebel Treble

Kim: “You can just set them down on the floor. In the meantime, I will go ask Shunner if he can teach me how to tune a guitar, because I have no clue as to how to do it.”

(She walks up to Curtis.)

Kim: “Shunner?”

The Rebel Treble

Me: Okay... Thanks.

-Ian opens his backpack and unpacks two electric guitars, one Pikachu-sized, an amplifier, a flute, a violin, a trumpet, a bass guitar and the drum set.-

Me: Now, I'm SURE I didn't miss anything!

Rebel Treble

"I heard you. And I'm not the guitarist."

"'Sup?" Colton asked. "Need a guitarist to show you how to tune a thing? Step one: have perfect pitch. Getting stuck there? Buy one of these doohickies◊," he said, holding up a clip. "These things will tell you if a string is sharp or flat.

"Tricky thing is you might be playing in a given key. Maybe it knows that, maybe it doesn't. Just keep strumming the open string, turning the knobs until you're at the pitch you want."

Kim: (suddenly turns) “By the way, Ian... why did you get a flute and violin? I’m curious...” (then, to Colton) "Also, what is an open string?"

Kim: "That certainly is nice." (then to Colton) "Anyways..."

Rebel Treble

Colton looked at Kim for a moment, confusion and exasperation in his eyes.

He looked at the guitar draped across his back, back at Curtis who shared in his confusion, and suddenly a look of fear crossed his face.

"When you strum the string without holding it down anywhere," he said in a panic before he disappeared in a blue flash, leaving behind the choker around his neck.

In a green flash, the drum kit disappeared, and with a series of blue flashes, Colton's entire team did too.

His hand trembled for a moment, and before anyone could react,

Colton facepalmed.

Violent winds ricocheted off the wall, turning the entire room into some sort of disaster movie set as the guitar on his back was torn from its strap and flew back against the wall, its neck shattering into two, the strings snapping with a dissonant twang!

The noise of the facepalm itself was absolutely deafening, louder than any scream anyone would have been able to produce, no matter how many years of experience they had.

The Rebel Treble

(Upon being struck by Colton's Legendary Facepalm, Kim and all of her Pokemon are blown back, all of them letting out a scream of terror. Eventually, after a bit, Kim gets up and looks around the room in amazement.)

Kim: "Whoa... what happened?" (then, in terror) "I-is Rever okay?! Is everybody okay?!"

Chateau d'Avarice

-First, the scans.-

-There doesn't seem to be anything particularly different about the New Moon's Beast, Changeling, or Tom Fool, at least not in a way that would fundamentally affect combat. However, there seems to be some sort of... bond, one might say, that gives their existence a peculiar, undefinable quality.-

-As for Robinson's Shadow, that does get defined.-

-The Beast is blasted hard by the Aura Storm, snarling madly, but digs its claws into the ground to stay in place. Once the beam fades, it continues its assault, raking a blue-glowing claw over the Knight.-

-Tom Fool is thoroughly electrocuted. The fun part about being electrocuted while holding something, though, is that your grip tightens while the current surges through you.-

-Once the electricity fades, though, Tom Fool is thrown against the wall, and sits there laughing in disorientation before snapping back to reality.-

Tom Fool: <Hee hee, a fun ride that was!>

-Changeling, in the form of Knight, grabs the rather frail body of Bluetongue Lizard and starts pummeling him relentlessly. Runaway sputters as the pain resonates with her.-

Paula: Hey, whoa, you're the one we're beating the stuffing out of here!

-Maui hooks Changeling by the shoulder, ripping its arm nearly off and causing a bunch of cotton to poof out.-

Changeling: <Ow! You'll pay for that!>

-The hands grabbing at Rage and Love are knocked away by the stones, and retreat slightly.-

-As she enters, Robinson locks eyes on Tagg, briefly glancing around at Alex, Channah, and the Room 713 Pokemon. Though her face is still indiscernible, Tagg's Aura Sight manages to pick up that the many, many ghosts swirling around in her are perhaps more tightly bound to her own soul than they should be.-

Robinson: Ah, Tagg. I wasn't too early to our appointment, was I?

-She sends out a Gengar and a Palossand.-

Grit: <I've never been fond of changing plans, but I'm afraid this is necessary!>

Bartemaeus: <It was nice knowing you!>

-Grit attempts to use Hypnosis directly at Tagg, or at any Pokemon that attempts to get in the way of it. Barty, meanwhile, washes the field with a Sludge Wave.-

-From elsewhere, the ceiling of the entire ship is slowly overtaken by shadows, which start dripping corrosive blobs of malicious Aura...-

-...centered around a small, but unsettling Mimikyu lurking within the halls, somewhere near Pent's quarters.-

Pride: <Come out, come out, Phantom Thieves! Show yourselves!>

-Jevil is, to say the least, delighted at his encounter with a familiar face.-

Jevil: <Ah, hello, hello! It is a pleasing to encounter this ringmaster again, again! I am hoped that you will keep me very entertained, uee hee hee!>

-A circle of fire blocks off Jevil, Logan, and Addie from any other possible combatants.-

-PEFE!Every's first encounter is with the sound of snarling.-

-Only when she manages to stop and turn around, does she see a familiar, terrifying maw right behind her.-

-Just past the maw is the creature's eyes. Familiar eyes, but without the intelligence and focus that should go with them, instead full of panic and agitation.-

-The creature's body is tense, and trembling. The tubes on her back appear contaminated; the liquid has turned black, with a purple mist filling the pocket of air in each one.-

-And PEFE!Every has barely enough time to react before Carna decides to lunge.-
