Despite his young age, his almost unique condition - a natural Auric affinity that requires unusually large quantities of energy to sustain - make him a perfect subject for experiments regarding the capacity of Aura Draining abilities. (Personal note: Templars that can permanently bolster their own strength by sapping that of others? The potential profit of that outweighs any financial concerns we might have about these tests)
Have informed the mother that her son's condition proved fatal, and that we are holding the body for autopsy. She's obviously distraught, but believes story and is unlikely to make further inquiries. Will suggest that we claim the body is too damaged by its degenerative condition to be suitable to release for funeral.

Neither physical coercion nor emotional incentives seem to be effective motivators - only (admittedly exaggerated) reminders of the end state of his condition can persuade him to make use of his abilities.
Performance-wise, Ruthven has been disappointing. His Auric abilities are largely baseline and beyond his natural affinity for Aura Drain, he shows no exceptional talent in any area. While every trial that involves draining another subject increases his dependency, any corresponding increases in ability have been mediocre at best. All our projections indicate that the amount of time and test subjects needed to make Ruthven a viable Templar template would require more than we have of both. Will continue observation, but recommend a performance review be carried out before my next report.

From what we have gathered, Ruthven used some form of "charm" ability (not previously demonstrated in any trials) on his escorting officer to gain access to the security centre, altering clearances and access codes to facilitate their escape and prevent the alarm from being raised. An investigation is currently underway, and those personnel involved are being held for disciplinary review.
Given that Ruthven was due for termination at the end of the year, I opine that the matter of his escape is largely inconsequential. Of more concern is whatever data was stored on the drive that was removed during his getaway. Standard data destruction protocols were enacted, but the risk is that we have no guarantee that all incriminating evidence was destroyed, and we cannot rule out the possibility of Ruthven attempting to sell it on or encouraging others to attempt data taps or attacks on our servers.
I have spoken to my contacts in [ERROR:EMPTY_TOKEN] to organise a misinformation campaign, further obfuscating our operations and hopefully discrediting any intel Ruthven leaks. This, coupled with our significant influence amongst the authorities, should prevent any damage to our continued operations.
