Misunderstood Mimiga
Halsei harmlessly bonks off of the Protect barrier a minute or two later, falling over onto the floor nearby but hopping back onto their feet shortly after.
Halsei: <Oof... I don't like having my attacks blocked. Won't you pleeease go a bit easier on me...?>
Halsei gets a clever idea and tries to use Baby-Doll Eyes to cause Talbain to lower his guard while moving closer slowly.

-Cedy jumps in the air, still gets hit by the earth power, but takes less damage.-

-Gwen takes the Slowpoke tail out of the oven, puts it on a plate and pours the mysterious sauce on it. The shadow ball has mostly faded, but the dish still has a slight ominous glow to it. Merah, as a human, arrives carrying her salad.-
Merah: So, how come you used shadow ball for cooking?
Gwen: I find it gives it a darker flavour and also just softens the stuff up. But it's a bit of an acquired taste.
Merah: This salad is great! You know, being a Cinccino I've never really had meat. I'm slightly nervous to eat some in human form in case it messes me up.
Gwen: I'd offer diet advice, but ours are quite wildly different.
Merah: Yeah. Anyways, I'm fine with what I eat. Who knew pokemon food was still a decent snack in human form?
Gwen: Yeah, but some brands are better than others. Like there's that one cheap one that is decent, but gets boring after a while if it's all you eat. You'd think a family like the Macrauls would be able to afford decent food.
Merah: Yeah, it's as if that brand is the default for caged pokemon. I still remember that from when I was young.
Gwen: Huh?
Merah: Yeah, I come from a breeder. He only cared about breeding shinies, or particularly strong pokemon to sell to people for large sums of money. If you weren't shiny, you got thrown out on the streets. The guy got busted, but I'm pretty sure there's still a colony of those pokemon living on the outskirts of Mistralton. They have literally no trust in humans. I suspect it was them who attacked Eva that one time.
Gwen: That's rough.

Shadow shrugs as he watches Ophidia coil her way around Armando. She wrapped her long body around him (cautiously for obvious reasons) before relaxing with a sigh. Shadow finally turns to Silversmith with a grin that looks almost predatory rather than his usual playful smile.Shadow: That's fine. I'll also leave Ophidia, Snowy, and Crush out of my lineup. You'll need every advantage you can get against a Dark type specialist. We rarely fight any more fairly than our Pokemon. I won't actually break any rules, but I'm not afraid to ignore the "honorable" fighting rules. I don't expect opponents to fight fair either. Plus, Mischief has a few new tricks up her metaphorical sleeve... You know anything about T Ms? I do, I know plenty about them and I've used a few. I don't have a ton, but... Anyway, I'd happily have a battle! Just don't expect to bring any of my Pokemon down! Even the weakest Dark Type can pull off some nasty tricks!
It was hard to say if Shadow had actually changed any of his personality aspects or was just working to throw Silversmith off.
Mischief pulls away from Cortez, displaying the same wolfish smile as her Trainer. The two were almost always moving similarly. And a Slasher Smile is even more intimidating on a Zoroark than a human.

Talbain stopped in his tracks, feeling a little bad about going in so hard.
His tail glowed silver and he attempted to slam the Iron Tail into Hails’ chest.

Silversmith was quite unsettled, but he didn't show it. Honor was questioned. He couldn't back down now.
Silversmith: "Thanks for excluding so many members of your team. Allow me to educate you on the virtues of adhering to a code of honor."
Silversmith's pokemon, save for Cortez, were also quite intimidated. Armando was happy he wasn't participating in this fight, and decided to enjoy his time with Ophidia as much as possible. Cortez was either too brave or too stupid to recognize the threat of the opposing team, and was hyped for the battle. The poison types simply decided to listen to their trainer, and trusted that this wouldn't go too badly.
Silversmith: "I believe tradition has it that I allow you to make the first move? Apologies for not adhering to this last time. En guard!"
