The mansion is dark, lit only by candlelight, but one can make out the sheer opulence of the place. Fitting with Carmilla's aesthetic.

Speaking of aesthetic, the door behind Kai suddenly shuts and locks behind them.

-Kai tenses up, but forces themself to relax.-

Kai: If I become a horror movie lead and I die here, I'm coming back as a ghost to file a complaint.

Onabarrak: <...I imagine you have plenty of other reasons to come back as a ghost.>

Kai: Coping mechanism.

Carmilla's Mansion - After Hours.

Kai and Onabarrak's conversation as hellish laughter fills through the foyer, and the figure of a shiny Cofagrigus can be seen from the balcony.

Mephisto: <Uehehehehehe! Well, well! Who have we here? Who could it pos-si-bly be?!>

The laughter continues as the Cofagrigus jumps off the foyer balcony and scampers towards the guest group, getting very close to Kai as he looms over them. Jagged smile unceasing.

Mephisto: <Ah! I see! You must be the new servant of the mastaaar, yes? Uehehe!>

Ghostly hands grab Kai.

Mephisto: <You should come with me then! Mmm, yeeeeeeeeeees! Hehe!>

-Kai watches Mephisto approach, as uncomfortable as it is.-

Kai: ...I like Edge better. Ahem, yes, that's corr— aah!

-They're grabbed, and try not to fight it.-

Kai: Okay so just for clarification before I see her what honorific am I supposed to use? Madame, mademoiselle, miss, mistress? ...San? Sama?

Carmilla's Estate - After Hours

Mephisto just continues to grin unnervingly at Kai.

Mephisto: <Madame is usually a very good title to use! Certain-ly, Uehehe! She might be more receptive to "Master" however! Depend on her mood! But speaking of moods!>

The front of Mephisto's sarcophagus body opens wide as Kai is shoved inside, the lid slamming shut.

Mephisto: <You probably shouldn't be leaving the Master waiting! Oh no! She would be most upset with you, and you don't want that on your first day! Oh, think of all the things she could do to you!! Uehehe!>

Mephisto begins scampering through the mansion at a breakneck speed, pretty much ignoring Onabarrack and leaving them behind.

Kai: (Thank goodness he's not as spiky on the inside as Edge, I'd be dead already.)

-Onabarrak scowls, and continues after Mephisto knowing he can't keep up.-

Carmilla's Estate — After Hours

Mephisto scurries through out the mansion, not really caring for how smooth the ride is for Kai, but sooner rather than later, Kai doesn't need to worry about ride comfort anymore.

Mephisto: <Master! Mastaar! Your new servant! They're here!>

Kai is dumped unceremoniously onto a red silk carpet as Mephisto bounces away to Carmilla's side.

The room seems to be a lounge room or reading room of sorts. The only light in the room is the fireplace burning, but it illuminates a few pieces of furniture, some objects of decor, a bookshelf wall to the right and - most critically - the figure of Carmilla lying recumbent on her velvet chaise longue, idly drinking some wine and reading a book.

Carmilla: -Not even bothering to look up from her book- Oh, Kai, how pleasing to see you so soon~ I'm glad that you took up my offer to meet me in my own home.

Carmilla looks over to Mephisto, who is leaning over his trainer.

Carmilla: I hope Mephisto was kind enough to you on the ride here? He's a wonderful boy but, just a tad bit excitable~

Carmilla finally looks over to Kai, smiling as she does so.

-Kai is dumped out of the sarcophagus, and quickly scrambles to right themself.-

Kai: O-of course, Madame. I wouldn't want you to think I backed out of our deal prematurely.

-They instinctively bow a bit.-

Kai: I've certainly met worse Cofagrigus than Mephisto, so complaining about him would only be rude.

Carmilla's Estate — After Hours

Carmilla snaps the book shut with one hand, placing it on the side table nearby.

Carmilla: That's good~ The last servant wasn't as fond of him and well...

Mephisto begins giggling.

Mephisto: <Their blood still stains my body!>

Carmilla chuckles, raising a hand to her lips.

Carmilla: Anyway, about your first duty for me.

There is a rather dangerous edge to Carmilla's pillowy lilt.

-Kai swallows nervously-

Kai: Yes, Madame Carmilla?

Carmilla's Estate - After Hours

Carmilla beckons Kai closer with a gesture of the index finger, looking them straigh on with her glowing, ruby eyes.

Carmilla: Do not fret, ma cherie~ While this task won't be easy, it is by no means an immoral or illegal task. If that was your worry~

She giggles.

Carmilla: Simply put, my first task for you is to retrieve for me a Murkrow that shines~ That is all, a difficult but simple task~ Complete the task and prove to me your worth and loyalty.

Carmilla gives a toothy grin

Carmilla:You understand, oui?

-Kai relaxes slightly, instinctively drawing closer upon request.-

Kai: Finding a particular bird, I can do. That's relevant to my usual Trainer skillset anyway. Besides, I'm good at finding birds whether I like it or not. Usually they find me first.

Carmilla: Good child~

Carmilla condescendingly pats Kai on the cheek, though thankfully there is no drainage this time. The implications of Carmilla being satiated be damned.

Carmilla: You have a week to finish your task, Kai. Failure to meet the deadline will be met with strict punishment. You understand, non~?

Embedded Tower

Midway through chugging the glass, Levi mentioned seawater. Colton paused, swallowed the water, and started up.

“A) Thanks,” he started, nodding to Levi.

“2) Excuse me what. Seawater? Like, drinking that crap? Dude if that were the case you would have died of dehydration!” He realized, standing up in his passion. He stood up and approached the cupboard with all the games, opening it up and beginning the hunt for what might strike his fancy.

-Kai nods-

Kai: Understandable. I will make sure to have it by then.

Stormchaser - Kai's Room

-Sometime early in the morning, Alice begins to stir, the dawn sunlight streaming in through the window and forcing her to cover her eyes with her arm. She looks over at Brie sleeping on her shoulder and smiles.-

Alice: Mmhm.

-As she does, however, she notices Kai's note next to her and picks it up with her free arm, eyes narrowing slightly as she reads it.-

Alice: Hmm...

Stormchaser—Kai's Room

Brie: Mmm?

-she sits up...and then flops over with a yawn-

-apparently she's not a morning person-

Brie: Morning, Alice. What's on the note?

Carmilla's Estate - After Hours

Carmilla takes a sip of her wine, intense glare not not breaking eye contact with Kai.

Carmilla: Très bien. Mephisto will escort you out now, au revoir, Kai~

During their conversation, Mephisto had moved from behind Carmilla's chaise longue to behind Kai and quickly snaps them up like before and carries them back to the front door. Dumping them out with as much curtosy as they dumped them earlier.

Mephisto: <Tatty-bye! Tatty-bye! We'll see you in a week once you have collected a Murkrow that glitters for us~! Unless you don't! Oooh, I could imagine the torture now! Uehehehe!>

Mephisto giggles with his upper two ghostly appendages covering his mouth.

Mephisto: <See you soon! New servant~>

Mephisto slams the door on Kai, leaving them out in the silent night.

Sandy scratches his chin.

Sandy: Let me think. We got your typical standbyes. Like Chess, Backgammon, Go, Guess Who, Servipers & Ladders, Clue, Battleship, Trivia Pursuit and suchfourth.

Levi: -Lounging decadently on his beanbag- The only "typical" board game we don't have is Monopoly because that game is heinous and terrible. I swear it's like a Wingull designed it.

Levi then grumbles off to the side about Wingulls, which causes Sandy to lean down and whisper to Colton.

Sandy: Levi is comically prejudiced against Wingulls, don't mind him.

Levi: We also got some of the typical party card games. Yannow, like Apples to Apples, Cards Against Humanity, Superfight, Exploding Skitties, Love Letters-

Sandy: Ooh! Love Letters is fun.

Levi: Indeed it is. There's also What Do You Me-

Sandy: Levi, I absolutely refuse to even touch that game's box, let alone play it.

Levi: -Pouting at Sandy- Kiljoy.

Levi then looks back at Colton.

Levi: So yeah! Pick whatever~

Sandy then thinks back to some of Colton's earlier questions.

Sandy: Oh! Yes! If you want to know where the staircases lead. The ones going up lead to Vyvyan's loft, while the ones going down is to Levi's basement. I live on this here Ground Floor, though my room is off to the side a bit.

Levi: -Smirking- It's kind of half flooded and junked up at the moment. Which I don't mind, that's how I like it.

Sandy: It's just damp as anything and bad for my joints, as well as being a glorified junkyard.

Levi: Hey! My basement is layed out in organised chaos! Thank you very much!

Sandy: -Chuckling- As for the plumbing and seawater...

Levi: Let's just say that hasn't been much of an issue for us, and leave it at that~

Levi flashes Colton a winning smile.

-Alice is apparently rather more of a morning person, since she rises to her feet and looks down at Brie, managing a slightly strained smile.-

Alice: Morning. It's from Kai, or at least I presume it is. It simply reads "I'll be back soon".

Colton stared at Levi’s smirk with disdain, what little Obscura he had in reserve fanning out around him in pure malice. “Monopoly. That kills more relationships than real-world monopolies,” he laughed, bitterly. “Unless you distort the rules enough that you sit in a stalemate because your opponent is using frequent flyer miles to pay for hotels.

“You’re really going to have to explain to me why and how the plumbing isn’t a problem, since civilization doesn’t seem to precede the horizon and you three look rather well off,” he explained as he looked around the selection and grabbed Exploding Skitties. “If there’s some absolutely absurd reason, I’m part of the J-Team. It won’t be the craziest secret I’ll hide,” he defended.

Kai's Room

Brie: Oh.

-she sits up properly this time-

Brie: Do you think they're—

-Kai-

Brie: Oh, hey! Are you feeling any better?

Stormchaser - Kai's Room

-Alice arches an eyebrow as the door creaks open, her expression inscrutable.-

Alice: Welcome back. How are you feeling?

Levi and Sandy give a good hearty laugh at Colton's quip.

Sandy: Ain't that the truth!

Levi: I like this kid, Sandy.

The two's laughter then trail off at Colton's second question. Levi looks down at himself and his clearly thematic outfit and body marking and then looks back to Colton while blinking.

Levi: Wow kid, you're kinda clueless aren't you?

Levi gets dope slapped by Sandy.

Levi: Ow! Hey, what was that for?

Sandy: Don't be mean, Levi.

Sandy then looks to Colton with a more sympathetic look.

Sandy: Look, we could tell you... But Vyvyan, I'm not sure if he'd be all to willing to spill.

Levi: -Chuckling- Yeah, Vyv would freak if we told ya without his approval! He's kind of the boss around here.

Sandy: -Sighing- If you must know, you should ask Vyvyan. He's up in his loft at the moment if you wanna find him.

Levi: Vyv's kind of an seclusive bastard, likes his me time a lot.
