Nathan: "Okay, mister man, you're tied to this poke ball here, but make no mistake, I'm mot certainly going to take care of you like the others. You got all that?"

Pidgey: <The freedoms and the liberties of avians are gone like feather to the wind upon my part, but make no mistake, I am not taken a back by this for I seek challenges, opponents to show their place to, glory of the opponent's defeat to flourish in, AND I WILL MAKE MY WRATH THEIR FEAR AND FEAST ON EVERY MOMENT OF IT!>

Sophia recoils from the unexpectedly verbose and needlessly graphic monologue. Nate was more confused by the confidence of a bird of such size.

-A Bisharp and a Pawniard are sitting on a rock together. They are surrounded by about thirty other Pawniard, all of which are too busy bickering and fighting to pay any attention to anything else. The Bisharp sighs.-

Falchion: <...What have I gotten myself into? I'm supposed to lead these idiots. One word from Edge would have made them all snap to attention... but Edge isn't here now. It's just me.>

Scimitar: <It's not just you, sir.>

Falchion: <What do you mean?>

Scimitar: <Well, you have us.>

Falchion: <...You don't know what being an officer is like, do you, Scimitar?>

Scimitar: <Well, you appointed me as your lieutenant, sir.>

Falchion: <Because you're the only sane one here. Aside from me, of course.>

-There is a brief pause.-

Scimitar: <Do you... do you have any orders for the troops yet, sir?>

Falchion: <For the moment, I just want them to stick together, and not cause me any headaches. At the moment, they're failing at both.>

Scimitar: <I'm sure they'll improve eventually, sir.>

Falchion: <Arceus, I hope so...>

-A Chimchar comes up from behind the two and gives Scimitar a flirtatious look.-

Harkness: <Hey there, hot stuff. What's cookin'?>

Scimitar: <...>

Harkness: <Glameow got your tongue? That's fine. It's not the talking I'm interested in, anyway.>

Scimitar: <...Can I hurt him? I promise I won't damage him. Much.>

Challenger's Cave, Small Pond

-A pair of Dream World Politoed are sitting in a small body of water, underneath a small localised raincloud which is floating around in the cave against all meteorological laws.-

Leia: <So, um, d-dad... are you p-planning on g-going back to the D-Dream World? I mean, you got d-dragged in here just like I did...>

Bail: <Actually, I was thinking of staying here for a while. See what this new world is like. And I'd rather be in the same world as you are. You are staying here, aren't you?>

Leia: <...H-how did you g-guess?>

Bail: <Well, the way you were fooling around with that Sandslash, for a start.>

Leia: <U-um...>

-Bail gives her a stern look, but then laughs.-

Bail: <I'm only messing with you, kid. Really, you're not even a kid anymore. This is a chance for you to learn about the world for yourself. It might not be the world you grew up in, but it's a big and fascinating place all the same. And you can make your own choices now. Regardless of how much I may disapprove of certain ones.>

-He stands up, and smiles.-

Bail: <If you need me, I'll be here. As much as I'd like to go out and explore, I'm too old for that now. But at least you have a home to come back to, should you ever need it.>

Leia: <...D-dad?>

Bail: <Yes, Leia?>

Leia: <...Thank you.>

-The two exchange a brief hug, before Bail hops out of the pond and wanders over to a random Pawniard.-

Bail: <You so much as touch my daughter and I gut you with your own blades.>

Pawniard: <...What? But I didn't do anything!>

Bail: <Not yet, you didn't. But I've got a reputation to establish.>

Challenger's Cave, Eyrie

-A Tranquill and a Staravia are perched on a rocky outcropping near the cave ceiling, watching dozens of smaller Starly and Pidove fly around them.-

Samus: <You know, this place reminds me of Icy Cave! Do you remember how we used to go flying around in there together, looking for trinkets?>

Brian: <Oh yeah! That was always fun, wasn't it? The Geodude used to get so mad at us... at least we had the Staraptors to take care of us with Close Combat.>

Samus: <Ooh, that reminds me! When you become a Staraptor and I become an Unfezant, do you think you could teach me Close Combat? It's an awesome move!>

Brian: <Um... maybe? I don't think Unfezant can learn Close Combat, though.>

Samus: <Aww! But I've lived with Staraptor my entire life! I've watched you guys do it for ages! Are you sure you couldn't teach me?>

Brian: <Well... I'll try.>

Samus: <Yay! Thanks, Brian! You're the best!>

-She gives Brian a quick hug with her wings, then flies off, leaving Brian perched on the rock and looking slightly abashed.-

Brian: <Erm... yeah. Thanks.>

Challenger's Cave, Secluded Cavern

-Herbert is lying in the cave next to Alice, a thoughtful expression on his face as he idly observes the Pokemon running, flying and swimming around the cave. Kirk, Bishop, Maul, Wrex and Elan are with them, similarly idle.-

Alice: ...So, why haven't you left yet?

Herbert: Huh?

Alice: With the rifts closed, Deimos arrested and Titan fled, you've got no reason to stay here. I expected you to be all too eager to leave this place. Go back to Sinnoh, or perhaps head to Orre in search of Titan. But you haven't. So why are you still here?

Herbert: Um, well...

Alice: It's because of them, isn't it?

Herbert: Well... yeah. I mean, they're my friends, after all. Hell, they're almost like a second family to me. A big, screwed-up family whose members sometimes can't get along and always have issues to deal with, but family nonetheless. I've always needed friends to rely on, like you, and ever since we stopped travelling together I-

Alice: Don't you think this is rather sudden, though?

Herbert: What do you mean?

Alice: Well, you have only known this J-Team for two and a half months, and already you are declaring them family.

Herbert: Yeah, well... a lot has happened in those three months. I've starred in a movie, been mauled by a Girafarig, hit on a girl who turned out to be a guy, actually turned into a girl, learnt how to use Aura, gotten myself tangled up in a love triangle, killed a Bisharp, failed to beat the Unova League... and I get the feeling things are only going to get weirder from here. There's some things that are impossible to share with people without becoming friends, and I've experienced a laundry list of them over the last two and a half months.

Alice: ...I see. So you are staying with them?

Herbert: Yes. Wherever they go, I go.

-There is a long silence.-

Herbert: ...You could come with us, you know.

Alice: I'm sorry?

Herbert: I know you prefer to work on your own and everything, but you can't do this on your own. Nobody could. And the J-Team could always use new members.

Alice: Well, I'm not interested. They may be a most intriguing group of individuals, with some highly unusual members and abilities amongst their ranks. And they may well be some of the strongest trainers I've ever seen. But I don't need friends.

Herbert: ...You never were very good at lying, Alice.

-Herbert gives a sigh, and closes his eyes.-

Herbert: I used to think I didn't need anyone but you, as well. And we were happy together, for a while. I improved over the four years we were travelling together, however slowly. I went from an antisocial, aggressive loner who woke up every night screaming his lungs out to someone who could actually talk to people. And travelling with the J-Team... it kind of reminds me of all the adventures we had together.

-He opens his eyes, looks over at her, and smiles.-

Herbert: I miss you.

Alice: ...Very well. I will consider your offer.

Herbert: Thank you.

Herbert's Mindscape

-Yellow!Herbert and Purple!Herbert are standing outside a library in Eterna City, Purple!Herbert sighing contentedly to himself.-

Purple!Herbert: Oh, Alice, Alice! One scarcely has to glance to see why we were once smitten with you! Underneath that rough exterior lies a warm and caring heart, aching to be-

Yellow!Herbert: Whatever became of Carol, friend?

Purple!Herbert: Do not mistake my intentions, Yellow. Carol is still the flame that ignites our heart, the closest we have ever come to true love. But over the course of her long absences, it is only natural that the heart will begin to wander. Love is the food for the human soul, and there is only so long one can go without it before they become starved and malnourished. Even now, my poetic spirit is beginning to wane...

Yellow!Herbert: ...Wait, you have actually written poetry?

Purple!Herbert: Of course! Do you want to hear it?

Yellow!Herbert: Um, I'm sure that can wait until later. For now, we have a meeting to be attending. Follow me, friend.

-He leads Purple!Herbert into the library, where four other aspects are already sat around a large table. Red!Herbert and Blue!Herbert - who is now dressed in what appears to be a Spock cosplay - are both present, as well as a version of Herbert dressed in what appears to be a grey spacesuit and a small child dressed in baggy green clothing.-

Red!Herbert: ...Okay, who invited Nature and Nurture?

Grey!Herbert: Arceus, are you colourblind or something? It's Grey and Green, you idiot. We've got to stick to our ridiculous colour-based theme, unless you want me to start calling you Id.

Green!Herbert: i like being green, though! green's a nice colour!

Grey!Herbert: Shut up, kid, nobody asked you.

Blue!Herbert: Red, Grey, please be silent. Yellow brought us here for a reason, and I would prefer not to have this meeting derailed by petty arguments.

Grey!Herbert: Humph. Whatever you say, Spock.

Blue!Herbert: Please, just call me Blue. Or Superego, if you are feeling particularly Freudian. Now, I believe we should all be paying attention to Yellow.

Yellow!Herbert: Correct, friend. There is a matter we need to discuss. That of the Aspect.

Red!Herbert: Wait, do you mean L-

Yellow!Herbert: Names have power. To acknowledge him by either the name he has taken for himself or the name he was given is to grant him some level of legitimacy. To grant him power. For now, he is merely the Aspect. Or the Asshole Question Marks, if you want to be particuarly meta. We will refer to him as such. Understood?

Blue!Herbert: Understood.

Red!Herbert: So, are we going to beat him bloody like he deserves?

Yellow!Herbert: No, friend. We are going to ignore him.

Grey!Herbert: ...Is that armour causing your brain to overheat? What the hell kind of stupid plan is that?

Blue!Herbert: Actually, upon further analysis Yellow's plan proves to be highly logical. As a mental construct, or at the very least as an entity in the form of a mental construct, it stands to reason that he becomes more powerful the more we treat him as a threat. Given that he has no means of causing Herbert or anyone else harm - save for a temporary lapse of control, which we shall endeavour to avoid happening again - simply ignoring him should cause him to become powerless.

Yellow!Herbert: Do not underestimate the Aspect, friend. Words are the one weapon the Aspect has left, and they bite Herbert deeper than any sword. All we can do now is depend on his confidence... and his friends.

-Yellow!Herbert smiles at the assorted aspects.-

Yellow!Herbert Aside from that, I believe that Herbert told Alice everything I wanted to say. Let us hope that the voices remain quiet for now. You are dismissed, friends.

-The assorted aspects all leave the library, talking amongst themselves. Unbeknowst to them, they are being watched by a shadowy figure perched on the statue in the square.-

???: One day, Yellow, words won't be enough to hold me back...

Nimbasa City, Jail

-Deimos is lying on his cot in his jail cell, his broken leg wrapped up in a cast and a wheelchair by his side. He is humming to himself, until the cell door swings open and a man in a trenchcoat and fedora steps in.-

Deimos: Ugh, finally, one of you fuckers came in to check on me. What's going on? Does the doc have any news about my leg yet?

Interpol Officer: I don't know, and quite frankly I don't care. You're being transferred to maximum security effective immediately. We can't risk another breakout. The SWAT team's waiting outside to take you over there. Now, are you going to wheel yourself over, or will I have to carry you?

Deimos: Fuck you.

Interpol Officer: I'll assume you're going with the former option, then. If that's the case, then hurry up. I'm not getting paid enough to wait here for you to-

???: He's not going anywhere.

-A very old and pale-looking man with a certain deathly pallor to him steps into Deimos' cell.-

???: You are Mr. Richard Lane, correct?

Deimos: I prefer Deimos, but you offical types can call me that.

??? Mr. Slant: My name is Mr. Slant. I'll be your lawyer.

-Deimos' face breaks into a wide grin.-

Deimos: ...Titan, you old bugger, you've outdone yourself this time.

Ren: -rubbing the bridge of his nose his right hand- 584?!

Gamma: Affirmative.

Ren: Did you crosscheck the locations for the following criteria; seclusion, low human population, and access to natural resources?

Gamma: Negative.

Ren: Can you do so?

Gamma: Affirmative.

-several minutes pass-

Gamma: Crosschecking locations for specified criteria complete. Locations that meet all criterion have been counted. Final number of possible locations: 253.

-Ren bangs his head on his desk several times-

Ren: We're going to need to get more information somehow... Gamma keep searching until you've narrowed it down to one location and alert me the moment you do.

Gamma: Affirmative.

By "we", Ren means the J-Team; not Ren's team. Also, my posts will be limited to little scenes like this until Monday. Gamma, being too logical, will never be able to get the results down to one, due to "strange storms" being too broad a term.
