Honestly the hardest part is relying on luck to get Silver Knight weapons and the Channeler's Trident.

Silver Knight weapons are fine because I actually enjoy fighting Silver Knights.

I'm dreading the day I decide to try and actually farm Channelers.

but HOW?

And the shield is literally the best small shield

Is it difficult to transition from the Dark Souls series to Bloodborne?

So, got DS 3 from Steam sales...any beginner tips? Got a bit of experience from DS 2 (didn't finish it tho, got lazy). Not sure, maybe some kind of Dex/Faith build?

nevermind, read it as dex/int.

Well, I say Strength/Faith synergize much better.

Re; transition to Bloodborne

The biggest "DOH!" moments you'll probably have is with accidentally healing when trying to "two hand" weapons and the lack of shields can be daunting at first. But once you pick up on being more agressive to regain HP, Poise not existing for yourself nor most enemies and that you should always keep an ample supply of Blood and Bullets with you, you'll do great.

Re; Dark Souls 3 tips

Fire Gem is a great starting gift. Raw infusion is actually miles more useful here than it has been before. Both ignore your STR/DEX, yes, but early-to-mid game the huge base damage boost more than makes up for it, so you can pump all of your initial levels into VIG, END and whatever.

Fire obviously burns things and so many enemies do not like fire. Both in resistance and behaviour. Give it a try on some dogs.

Raw lets you use buffs on your weapon, something Fire won't. Might be worth it to carry two weapons?

Oh, and even though Dark spells exist, they do *not* function the same as Dark Souls 2. None of the "Uses INT or FTH, whichever is lower" thing. The spells scale completely based on your catalyst's properties. There are Dark Miracles and Dark Sorceries and even Dark Pyromancies.

Pyromancy is similar to Dark Souls 2 and is useful for INT, FTH or mixed builds.

[up]Well, all buff builds synergize well with fast weapons, which are usually DEX. :v

So, I decided to try a pure faith build and let me tell you, the start of the game sucks.

Sure, my fire broadsword was good but I felt I was dumping stats on something useless. Although replacing my Estus flask with heal/med heal was nice. Also, I was so used to cheesing the game by rushing to Farron and getting Hidden Body that I had to learn how to actually play the game (I hate the evangelists). In short, the game was driving me crazy...

And then I got Lightning Stake and Dorhys' Gnawing and I'm in love. I switched most of my Estus to Ashen Estus and I was able to help some people go from Central Irithyl to the boss with nothing but my heals, cheesing those freaking knights with Gnawing (just 2 casts to kill them!!!!) and using Lightning Stake to kill the beast that I wish my co-op partners had kill at the bridge instead of having to fight it below... >.>;

BTW, it's the first time I got to beat the Pontiff all by myself. Dorhys + the Stake are OP against him.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I was reluctant to try a pure faith build but it really gets better and it's so so fun!

Question: is it possible to make flicking the mouse change target when in lockon in DS 3? I seem to remember that that's possible in DS 2...

...sooo I end up attacking the red cloak guy with cage in back in Undead Settlement that used woodcutting saw as weapon, but he killed me...reading the wiki it seems like he's a guy for a covenant? If I go back there will he be hostile again or I can interact with the thing behind his back to get initial access to covenant?

Give me cute or give me...something?

Don't worry, he is just a way to get into a Covenant early, or if you want to skip a boss fight. But since the boss in question gives you access to Boss Weapons, you don't want to skip it anyway, at least not until either NG + or a character you're sure doesn't want a single Boss Weapon.

After a certain boss, you still get access to it. You miss out on one meeting and dialogue with a certain NPC too, but it doesn't lock away any questlines and you will surely meet him again.

And because he is a regualr enemy, kind of, I'm not sure if he aggros again when the area reloads. And if he does, I don't know if you can remove his hostility with the Velka statue either... He is an odd case.

Still not sure about build myself tho...Dex/Int or Dex/Faith or Quality? ...now used a knight instead of herald, so that's something.

There is a hidden NPC that lets you respec, so don't worry too much. Just pick what you like or what you've already started building upon.

At most what you should concern yourself with is saving your Titanite Slabs for the absolute "I love this" weapons. Well, some infusion gems can be frustratingly rare drops too, but are still technically of unlimited availability.

...

Anyway, so Dark Souls Remastered is making me sick. Literally. I get all dizzy if I play for more than 30 minutes at a time. It's the first time this has happened to me in a game. Must be the lack of omni-directional roll.

Any suggestion on how to deal with the motion sickness?

@Onyhow The spell-intensive builds only become viable after you manage to get at least 30 INT or Faith. The only exception to this is the Pyromancer: his spells generally have low skill requirements, do good damage, and mostly don’t take up too many skill slots. Well, except for the more unique or devastating Pyromancy spells, but those often aren’t worth it due to their mana costs.

^ I'm thinking more of buff/utility builds rather than spellslinger. The question is though is spell builds worth enough (consider buffs, heal, and utility) or I just go quality and stick to buying resins for buffs...

Currently the healing spells are only worth it if you're traveling in a group. Even worse, they take longer to begin actively healing you, and often at a slow rate, whereas the Estus Flask instantly brings back a large chunk of health simply with a quick sip from the flask. Then there's the issue with how the effectiveness of healing spells are directly influenced by your Faith/INT levels, require a charm to be held in hand when casting, and... well, there's a reason why some folks are willing to grind the Mound-Makers covenant in order to earn the Warmth Pyromancy.

EDIT: Oh, another thing... it's best to grind out the Mound Makers as early as possible. This is because lower-level players are less likely to be aware of how to properly fight in Pv P, meaning easy victories, nor will they have any over-powered spells or builds, or even recognize what a typical Mound-Maker player will be after (hint: it's complete and utter chaos at all times).

Very many people will get enough FTH to cast Tears of Denial though.

It's basically a "cheat death once" buff that lasts indefinetely. Takes two slots though.

The FTH required for it isn't very high and grants access to HP regen buffs as well, but you'll need more Attunement if you want to use it alongside Tears.

^ The wiki says that you can use Tears then rest and swap out the spell. Is that still working?
