Everyone has limits, so don't feel weird. Personally I bought the remaster because lost the ability to play my PS 3 copy of the game, which I hadn't played in years anyway. It really helps the the online is so active again.
Modders Discover Early Concept For Bloodborne Inside Dark Souls Remastered, Open It In GTA V
Yes, you read that link description right! Now, you might find it strange that he chose GTAV of all games to extrapolate the files, but apparently it's due to the 3D software the modder used easily remapping meshes and textures into GTAV.
And that's not the only piece of From Software level design found in the DS 1 Remaster. The entrance wall from the Boletaria level from Demon's Souls was also found too... no idea how the heck that still ended up in the game's code.

seems like pretty standard stuff from datamined files in souls games to me.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."I'm pretty sure From Software doesn't really have unique game engines usually.
Like, Armored Core 1 was basically just the Kings Field engine only in third person and with giant robots. The physics aside from that were basically unchanged.
Dark Souls 2 seems to have been a more unique offshoot of the souls engine, but demons souls, dark souls 1, bloodborne and dark souls 3 all seem to have the same code under the hood, just updated slightly over time.
They started dark souls after demons souls, and bloodborne was supposedly started during development of Artorias of the Abyss. We knew this already.

So I still haven't finished my playthrough on PTDE (currently in Ariamis, in front of the well, rethinking my life choices) but since apparently everyone is having a blast on DSR, I'm considering cutting it short (forgoing the DLC and going straight for Gwyn) to get the remaster and make a sunbro.
Worldbuilding is fun, writing is a choreYeah, the Painted World can be rough if you're underleveled, but I found that enemies drop plenty of souls there, you can level up pretty fast.
As for the remaster though, I don't feel the need to get it. I played the shit out of the game first time around (more than 400 hours), and as I discussed a while back, I do think Dark Souls III is a better game, though Dark Souls will always be the classic.
Perhaps I'll pick it up when it's inevitably dirt cheap.
Yeah, probably wait for a sale. DSR is a must-have for simply being a functioning game in a way that even DS Fix could never really manage for the original, but twenty bucks for returning players is definitely too high.
but HOW?So I made it to Sen's earlier today, and the worst mistakes I ever made occurred in such a way that I lost the 30 soft humanity my character had stockpiled up til this point. Mainly because of this, I've decided to farm the Iron Golem boss via being summoned for help until I get about 20 soft Humanity back. Given that each boss kill also nets me 20,000 souls, it'll also be a great way to rack up levels and the means to purchase Big Hat Logan's Soul Spear and Homing Soul Mass.
Fast Forward to several hours later, and I'm sitting on 18 soft humanity and 431,000 souls. My current soul level is 50, so I'll most likely be at or near 70 when this is done.
So twice now today, I've been summoned into a New Game Plus world from my regular game one.
It took some more deaths on my part than I intended, but I finally got the armor set I wanted for my Dexterity/Intelligence build. Thanks Marvelous Chester. I'm also at Soul Level 86 with Crystal Soul Spear and 2 normal Soul Spears as my boss killers, boosted by Crown of Dusk, Bellowing Dragon Crest Ring, and Power Within. Right now I'm farming Sir Artorias for souls by cooping outside his boos room. Sometimes I get summoned for Kalameet though.

Chester's coat is indeed stylish. The crossbow bolts stuck on his pants are an eyesore though.
Hands up if you'd have rather had this than the remaster.

Eh, combat doesn't seem as good. Pass.
but HOW?So after farming over 1 million souls at Artorias my guy is at level 101. I've hit every endpoint for my major and minor stats (16 ATT, 45 DEX, 44 INT, 30 END), so the only thing left to level up is VIT.
Artorias the Abysswalker DLC completed. I had a summon with me for Manus, but I don't regret that considering I lost 30 more stockpiled humanity trying to beat Artorias solo.
When you say summon, I presume you mean doggo, yes?
but HOW?No, I hand him and a human player for help.
Speaking of which, I killed Seath, Sif, Moonlight Butterfly, and the Four Kings today. What really gets me is that I failed to cut Seath's tail in the right way, so I can't get the Moonlight Greatsword unless I get lucky with online trades. Oh, and I also killed Big Hat Logan, Griggs, and the Crestfallen Warrior after they went Hollow.
There should be a subreddit for item trades. Some people will just give you one no strings attached, mostly because they cut the tail off for fun but didn't actually intend on using the weapon.
Isn't that what /r/snuggly is for?
Worldbuilding is fun, writing is a choreYes, that one. I was thinking r/pumparum but that's Souls The Third.
I just killed Seath and actually got the sword, though I do not need it. That being said, the way to him was imho badly designed. I do not mind traps and ambushes like in Sen, but invisible paths are just annoying and lazy level design. I am grateful though to all players who left messages ob the invisible paths. You saved me a lot of deaths.
After a few playthroughs, you'll realize the path to Seath himself is fairly linear and easily memorized. Worse than the two invisible paths to Seath are the sometimes super slippery visible bits you walk on. Sometimes you just fall off for no reason!
And the worst is that goddamn Blue Titanite Slab path. THAT is a real bitch; sharp turns and uphill slopes really fuck with your perception when the path is literally invisible.
Lost Izalith might be the most obviously rushed area, but that Crystal Cave seems to have gotten hit with the rush-time pretty bad too.
After all that waiting for a free Moonlight Sword, I got over myself and picked the game back up. Just now I killed Gravelord Nito after I entered his covenant and got both Gravelord miracles. I also recused Reah, killed Petrus so he wouldn't kill Reah, and killed Patched by forgetting how to make him a merchant later. Oh, and I killed Paladin Leroy.
Man, I love using Dark Bead on bosses. Melts them like no ones business.
I always liked how Dark Bead melted bosses. On NG+7+ I could always just equip a bunch of magic-boosting items and Dark Bead the bosses away when I was sick of trying to beat them legit and just wanted to move on.
I bought DSR and have been really bored the entire time. I might be experiencing gaming burnout, or it's that I've played the original Dark Souls like six times.
