Anime Theme Song Game

[up][up]Did you seriously believe we would know what it is if we're still asking questions?

[up]Please tell me Marty didn't accidentally leave a video game back in the 1955. But seriously, Pyrite did say that it was an adaptation of a video game.

Are there any characters that are exclusive to the anime?

Of course not, it's just that... well, I'd probably have to commit seppuku if I dragged you all on for so long because of a faulty hint. I'm going to recheck to make sure I haven't misrepresented.

  • It's not Dororo no Uta.
  • The game was not released on the Xbox.
  • The anime is an action series.
  • No, I don't think there are any anime-exclusive characters of importance.

The list (damn, this is tough):

Round 355: *Sekiha Tenkyokens djmaca*

Hint: N-Word Privileges. Not a reference to God Knows.
Restrictions: No questions on air dates, series length, episode length, producers, and no direct references to other sites aside from TV Tropes.

The song:

  • Is not Attitude.
  • Is not Love Together.
  • Is not Ieroo Baruun.
  • Is not School Girl.
  • Is not Braveheart.
  • Is not Family.
  • Is not Akaneiroga Moerutoki.
  • Is not D.M.C.
  • Is not I'll Be Your Home.
  • Is not Dororo no Uta.

The anime:

  • Is an action series.
  • Does not have a female main character. (Caveat: Your Milage May Vary on singling out one character as a main character.)
  • Does not have any black characters.
  • Does not have any anime-exclusive characters of importance.
  • Does not appear on Fantastic Racism. (Neither do any of its adaptations or original works.)
    • As far as general consensus goes, has no more than 2 characters who could be considered main characters.
    • Both main characters are male.
    • Both have seiyuu listed on the Names to Know in Anime page.
    • Both seiyuu are older than 25.
  • Is not Naruto.
  • Is not Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
  • Is a TV series.
  • Is not a movie or movie series. It has a movie, though.
  • Is an adaptation.
    • Is not an adaptation of a manga.
    • Is an adaptation of a videogame / visual novel.
      • Is an adaptation of a videogame.
        • Is an adaptation of a videogame of Japanese origin.
        • Is an adaptation of a videogame with more than one game in the franchise. The first game in the franchise:
          • was not released on a 7th-gen console.
          • was not released on the PC.
          • was not released on multiple platforms.
          • was not released on a Nintendo platform.
          • was released on a Sony platform.
            • was released on the PS 2.
          • was not released on the X Box.
          • was released before Jan 1, 2006.
          • was not released after Dec 31, 2008.
          • was not exclusively released in Japan.
        • The videogame franchise has not sold more than 10 million copies worldwide to the best of my knowledge.
        • The game is a third-person action game, which means it is not:
          • a visual novel.
          • an RPG.
          • an FPS.
          • a puzzle game.
          • an adventure game.
          • a fighting game.
          • a platformer.
    • Is not an adaptation of a light novel.
  • Has a manga in the franchise.
    • The manga is possibly Shounen (depending on your reference),
      • not Shoujo,
      • but most likely Seinen since it was serialised in a Seinen manga magazine, as far as I can tell.
        • but is not on the Seinen page.
    • There is no more than one manga.

The hint:

  • Is not a reference to the anime.
  • Is a reference to the song.
  • Is not a major plot device.

Why not add a "The video game:" section?

Oh I definitely need to win now, I just pieced together my next round.

Is it from Sengoku Basara?

I have mine all prepared too.

And going off the hint, is it JAP (from Sengoku Basara)? It all makes sense now, you should have kept that particular thought to yourself, Poke, and asked whether it was an OP or ED instead.

[up]A. I didn't check the names of the OPs and EDs.

B. I didn't think that it was that anime. I just used that to post.

We will see, but "Jap" is a derogatory way of saying Japanese, so it fits the hint least (and Pyrite did say that the hint was related to the song, but not the anime)

I'll just leave this here and let you all sort out the matter of the next round, but I think flygon's explained it. (And yes, I suppose Abingdon Boys' School does get N-Word Privileges, seeing as how they're Japanese and all.)

Where I come from, "Jap" isn't considered particularly racist, but I figured you all would pick up on it eventually.

As for why I didn't put a separate category for "Video Game", well... Eh, that's a good question. *shrug* Guess I was too caught up with the finale to Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex.

EDIT: WTF. 60 hints?

It would have helped if I actually watched Sengoku Basara, since I ended up overthinking things and being sidetracked as a result.

Anyway, you don't mind if I take this round, do you, Pokenatic? You already admitted yourself that Sengoku Basra was pretty much a "lucky" guess on your half.

Round 356: Who cares about this part?

Let's pull out the big guns out early:

Is the studio that made the anime listed on the Names to Know in Anime page? Is the anime listed on the Essential Anime page? Are you making this round as a revenge for previous events that happened on this thread?

Oh darnit. The round where I'm away from the computer is the round where you would actually use a song I know. And I was planning on using the Sengoku Basara opening for a later round too.

Is it Fantasy?
Slice of Life?
Sci-Fi?
