Double post, but have a question for all of you.
I barely play my Xbox One anymore since I got my PS 4. Should I buy both Destiny games and play through them real quick on the PS 4 to get back to my current state so that I can play it more? Or should I just leave myself on the Xbox One and deal with it?
Or hope against hope for the ability to transfer stuff between consoles?
Honestly I dunno if I'd bother with getting the first one unless you really really wanna. You don't get anything besides altered dialogue for having it in Destiny 2.
Oh really when?True. But even if I do get the first game I won't spend much time on it, just speed through the vanilla and expansion stories, then move on to 2.
If you haven't started now I'd honestly say its a bad idea. Even if you managed to grab the "Destiny: The Collection" edition (it has all of the DLC plus the base game), you're going to have so much quests and stuff to grind, and a good deal of it is downright boring or hasn't held up well... for example, the original campaign for Destiny 1. They only started getting creative with the missions around The Taken King and Rise of Iron - the Crota and House of Wolves DLC is pure "meh."
Just start off with Destiny 2. Most of the first game's story you can catch up with via Youtube, and what little side lore exists honestly isn't that deep - Halo or The Witcher this ain't in terms of writing quality.
EDIT: Huh... talk about one odd Ninja'd case. Well, at least you've already got your answer.
Also don't hold out for any chances of your content being cross-transferrable. We might see Bungie eventually cave in and allow cross-console/PC play in order to bolster the overall server population, but that's probably it.

Well I'm aware of the story; I've played through the campaign of the second game, just want to catch up but can't because my Xbox One is inaccessible. And really I'd like to keep hearing the Veteran dialogue.

If you're not planning on playing the Forsaken DLC, then I STRONGLY advise you to log onto Destiny 2 and begin grinding all of the flashpoints, heroic adventures, and heroic public events ASAP. Because thanks to Bungie screwing up again Forsaken gear and weapons are occasionally dropping for players who participate in those events!

Okay finally started playing the game cause it’s the free monthly PS Plus game so I figured why not.
Also I got the season pass because 20 bucks for this shit is a fucking steal so I got all the DLC in time for Forsaken which looks interesting honestly.
So is there a Clan here? I’d actually like to do a raid this time unlike last game.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yeah, there's a PS 4 clan that's been here since the first game. I grabbed the PS 4 version myself to make a switch and be able to play with more people...and have also been kind of losing interest with the Xbone especially since every other game I love can also be played with the PS 4.
I'll just buy and run real quick through D1 then go through D2 until I'm back to where I used to be.

I'll probs jump back in for Forsaken. Loved D2 but it really burned me out quickly, even with the events. That cinematic really REALLY got me hyped. Damn it.
That's how it should be; just do everything you can, and wait for the next expansion. That's how I played it.
We've got a PS 4 group and a discord and stuff. Little quiet but with Forsaken coming out it's probably gonna pick up again.
Oh really when?So how do I join the PS 4 group?
Do ya send me an invite within the game or what?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."You can tell me your name on PSN and I can send one your way.
PM me if you're shy
Oh really when?Alright then.
I'm currently in a long drive though so I'll do that around an hour or so.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Alright then, my PSN name is Slimcoder & my image is Androxus from Paladins.
Try to message that.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Nobody on the PC?
Awww....
Sent a friend request over PSN, looks like I might have to do things the longer way around.
Oh really when?I'm betting everybody here has already figured out the conditions necessary to trigger a heroic public event, but just in case, he's a handy list briefly explaining what needs to be done.

So, ummm... turns out Shaxx was once used as a booty call for the Queen of the Awoken. And he made sure to use protection - the helmet stayed on throughout.

I mean.... Shaxx was already memetastic. This now makes forsaken a must buy :D
Of course Shaxx knows Poetry / Shakespeare. OF COURSE.
So, now that I have both games on the PS 4 and started over I’ve been playing Destiny 1, helped along by both sparks that shoved me up to 40.
I kinda missed the sense of wonder and fear that came with visiting each new location. I also get to re-experience the story. And it’s not really bad, it’s just...disjointed, considering you have a separate plot line for each world the story is unquestionably just intended to set up the world before you get into the rest of the things you can do.
I picked a Titan again because of course I did, too xD I managed to get through I think half the vanilla story in the span of a few hours, since I’m having to go to Venus next to meet with the Stranger. I’ll keep blazing through the rest and try and get to D2 as fast as I can.
I love the new subclass.
Yeah, I saw a clip of a Titan doing that and taking down a Cabal dropship.
So what’s the PS 4 clan again?
By the way, does anyone have a discord and hasn't made it to the channel we set up for it? Everyone is welcome.
Oh really when?
So, I watched the Last Stand cinematic.
Every single Fallen in that faction, AND ULDRED, is fucking dead.
