I would imagine so, yeah.

For the record, I did not mean to imply that Germans are all Nazis.

Oh don't worry I am not offended, it humored me as well.

I am surprised that Xillia 1 is actually above Abyss. I hear a lot of people dissing it for how blatantly rushed it was (and its they aren't wrong with that) but it still being third place is surprising.

My guess, it's a more recent game, thus more people have played it than Abyss.

They should do another Abyss port for Switch as well.

The 3DS port of Abyss was the first Tales game I played (well, actually, the only one I've played, though since I have both Symphonia and Berseria - and Zestiria, but I'm beginning to think that was a mistake - on Steam, I should probably remedy that), and I loved it, so I think that introducing it to new players on the Switch would be a great idea. Vesperia will probably serve as a pretty good gateway to the series, though - I'll make sure to pick it up.

Raine is...shockingly high up on that character list.

Symphonia and Vesperia taking the top two ranks

No lies detected.

I still think Symphonia is a good game but I can't ever really put it near the top anymore.

Vesperia I have yet to play but that'll change soon enough.

Symphonia was my first Tales game and really flashed me back in the days but I must say that it's chibi art style and combat aged like milk IMO. The art style was quirky during its release but to me its just an awkward in-between. Combat-wise being the only 3D tales without 3D-running really makes coming back to it feel restrictive and the character customization of the EX-Skills doesn't compare to the systems later games had.

I still love it out of nostalgia but I didn't even bother to start a new playthrough when I got it as a preorder bonus on Steam.

Well, it is over a decade old. Still, I want to see what all the fuss is about, so I’m willing to give it a try.

The biggest thing holding it back is the lack of Free Run, which can make combat feel restrictive since you're familiar with Abyss.

Otherwise I vastly prefer its combat to Zestiria and Berseria, because you can't just spam and actually have to work to do combos, and party composition is worth a damn on higher difficulties.

As my counterargument to that though, while party composition mattering in Symphonia is a good thing, besides Lloyd and Zelos/Kratos I don't really care to play as anyone else. Whereas with Berseria and to some extent Zestiria, I enjoy playing as everyone in my party. Even casters.

Everyone in Berseria plays the exact same.

Every character is a fast combo oriented attacker, even Magilou and Laphicet, who get stomped on if you try to cast spells without first linking them into combos instead of just being able to cast spells like other Mage characters.

There's no substantial differences between playing Velvet, Eleanor, Rokurou and Eizen.

Xillia did it best, I think, giving every character a unique mechanic

I think Regal, Zelos and Genis looked the best.

Okay, guy Colette (Cole?) looks like a douch enow without any sort of happy smile

But girl Lloyd tho. I want her to lay me on a bed and tell me I'm worth it and a good person.

And girl zelos is still amazingly raunchy

That poll...isn't too surprising actually.

...Can you actually consider yourself a Tales fan if you're not crazy about the vast majority of the series? I can count the games I've actually cared for on one hand, but my opinion on it is entirely positive.

Gatekeeping and saying that you're only a fan if you fulfill certain requirements is kind of shitty. Like I've never played a Tales game to completion and I've only seen bits a pieces of the franchise through Let's Plays but I'd still consider myself a fan of the series because I'm still interested in the franchise.
