Alright then Nick. See you elsewhere on the Forums.

As for the timeline...

Maybe we can say that Azure's Awakening and Crimson Dream happened before on the timeline, putting this one a few years later than the one Fuyuki.

So all we're missing (as far as servants) is Lancer then, right?

Someone go make a Leonidas Lancer. Our RP requires the epic. I'd do it, but I haven't actually seen the movie.

Anyway, he would definitely need an Ionioi Hetairoi style reality marble for his Spartans.

That's rather unoriginal but I guess it could work. There ain't many other historical spearmen. Saint Longinus was the only one I could find.

There's craploads of epic spearman in history. For one, almost every mythical women warrior in Japanese history is depicted using a spear of some sorts. The Tale of Heike is chock full of spear-users, like Tomoe Gozen, or even Benkei (who is pretty much like one of the most famous figures ever because he shows up in every damn woodblock print series and craploads of kabuki plays despite only having a minor role in the Tale of Heike for reasons I don't understand). Empress Jingū was often depicted in Japanese woodblock prints, especially during the Imperialist era, as wielding a spear during her mythical invasion of Korea. You could also use Honda Tadakatsu, one of Tokugawa Ieyasu's famous generals who wielded a famous spear. There's a bunch of others, but I can't really name them off the top of my head anymore. But there's definitely no shortage of historical spearusers. If there's any class I think is hardest, I would think rider would be the hardest...

Rider seems like one of the easiest to me.

The Cid, Joan de Arc, Alexander the Great, Hernan Cortez...

And a lot more I don't recall at the moment.

Class: Saber/Rider (preferably Rider)

Master:

True Name: King Pellinore of the Isles

Gender: Male

Appearance: A tall man clad in heavy plate who looks to be in his 50s. He wears a large bucket shaped helmet and sports a walrus salt and pepper mustache.

Height/ Weight: 176 cm 100kg

Alignment: Lawful Good

Stats: (From E to A+, E being the worst, A+ being the highest)

Strength: A

Endurance: A

Agility: D (C)

Magical Energy: C

Luck: C

Noble Phantasm (Rank): A

Class Abilities: (From E to A+, a single Servant will obviously not have all of these. Also how strong these abilities will be depends on the individual Servant)

Riding: A+ Creatures on the level of Phantasmal Beast and Divine Beast can be used as mounts. However, that does not apply to members of the Dragon Kind.

Magic Resistance: C Cancels spells with a chant below two verses. Cannot defend against Magecraft on the level of High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals. Skills: Particular powers that depend on the Heroic Spirit's character.

Charisma: C Capable of leading a small country.

Tracking: C The ability to track and assorted fieldcraft. At this rank, one could tack a deer on a dry day through a forest. Ineffective against Presence Concealment and stealth Thaumaturgy

Armored Soldier: B Specialty in acting as heavy infantry and heavy cavalry. While wearing heavy armor, physical attacks D rank and below are negated, and those above have their damage reduced by half. Agility is reduced by one rank.

Noble Phantasms: Weapons and powers unique to the Heroic Spirit alone.

Noble Phantasm: 1. Rank B (A++) support; Caliburn, The Golden Sword of Owed Victory: The Sword in the Stone that chose Arturia Pendragon as king of Britain. King Pellinore met Arturia while questing through the woods and jousted with her. The sword broke when Arturia preformed a dishonorable act during the duel, and she was only saved by Merlin casting a spell of enchantment on Pellinore. Pellinore kept the shards of the sword in the hope that he would be able to reforge them. In it's current state, Caliburn cannot be used as an offensive noble phantasm, but retains its properties as the sword that choses kings. The bearer of this sword may reroll failed saving throws and has their recovery time from wounds halved. In addition, the bearer may use the skill Imperial Privilege at a rank equal to their charisma. If the sword could be reforged, who knows what powers it may possess...

2. Rank A support; Beast Glatisant, The Knight's Eternal Quest: Invoking this noble phantasm calls forth the Questing Beast, a phantasmal beast with the head and neck of a serpent, the body of a leopard, the haunches of a lion and the feet of a hart. This creature can reach speeds of up to Mach 2 on open terrain and possesses agility rank A++. Offensively, it's bite is a Rank A poison. The Questing Beast is the "object of a knight's quest", something who's purpose is to allow an aspirant to demonstrate their resolve. King Pelinor's life was an endless hunt for this beast, casting aside comfort and companionship for this inherited duty. The Beast and Pelinor, the object and the aspirant, serve as the ideal of the questing knight, and for that were elevated to heroic spirits on death.

Misc Equipment: Longsword, Heavy Shield, Heavy Armor, Lance.

Hits: Hunting, Chivalry, Feather Beds, Ye Good Olde Days

Misses: Disrespecting one's elders, Enchantments.

I made up armored soldier and tracking out of whole cloth, they seemed appropriate to the character. Tell me if I need to nerf him at all. I'm going to try and play him similar to his portrayal in TH White's The Once and Future King.

Not sure if we really need to do the double thing though, we seem to have enough Servants as it is, 'specially since Justa Username wanted to do an Archer.

Now we just need to think up more Master ideas. Also, I'd like to reserve the rights to use Sion again, if that's alright.

[up] That's alright, you can reserve Sion.

Alright here's my Master, kidnapped from another roleplaying game.

  • Name: Sue McCoy
  • Age: 16
  • Gender: Female
  • Master Of: Whoever is left.
  • Physical Description: Short brown hair, brown eyes, short of height, thinly build. Wears glasses, jeans, sneakers, a plain shirt and a hoodie.
  • Backstory: Sue was raised by her single mother, who lives mostly unaware of the magic in the world. Her mother is a kind but troubled woman whose live took a bad turn with a teenage pregnancy at age 15. Unable to finish her studies and with Sue's father dissapearing as soon as they were old enough to marry, she now works hard to support herself and her young daughter. Sue was instructed in the magical arts by her grandmother, who would teach her how to become a witch like her once she saw the girl's talent. Sue, influenced by her grandmother, abandoned school at young age, prefering to have her education at home, leaving her more freedom to study the magic arts. Since then she has made many contacts in her homecity, from one of which she learned of a Holy Grail War in the making. Filled with ambition, a thrist for knowledge and a wish to be granted the girl made her way to the appointed city, taking with her a few magical artifacts and a particular friend.
  • Abilities: Sue is a prodigy at understanding magic theory and developting new spells. Unfortunately, she lacks the means to give a practical use to her knowledge since she only has 6 natural magic circuits and her maximum mana output is of 120.
    • Special Abilities: None.
    • Possesions: Not an inherent skill but rather a possesion. Sue owns a rare magical artifact. A small golden key that acts as a conceptual tool. With it's powers Sue can "Open" anything as long as the action can be described as "opening". Additionaly she owns a lenght of cloth that could be called a cape with the magical property of being as resistant as steel.
    • Spells:
      • Paralizing touch
      • A basic charm spell to make people more willing to hear her instructions. To any magus this hold practicaly no effect.
      • Some basic transmutations.

Let me create my servant character.

  • Class: Avenger
  • Master:
  • True Name: HIDDEN
  • Gender: Male
  • Height: 178cm
  • Weight: 72kg
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good
  • Stats:
    • Strength: B
    • Endurance: B
    • Agility: C+
    • Magical Energy: D
    • Luck: E
    • Noble Phantasm (Rank): ??
  • Class Abilities: None
  • Skills: HIDDEN
  • Noble Phantasms: HIDDEN
  • Appearance: Dark brown hair with hazel eyes with a sallow complexion. Wearing clothing found in the 19th century.
  • Misc Equipment: Revolving Rifle (5-shot) and 2 Revolvers (6-shot).

I'll create a master next, just curious to see how Caster develops.

Lets see... by my count we have...

Two submited Masters without a servant.

Anthiens reserved Caster but she hasn't submitted her yet.

Mystery Mage reserved master fo either Berserker or Lancer but we haven't heard of him since.

Tsukubus reserved another Master.

To put it simply we need...

Servants:

  • Lancer.
  • Caster has been reserved but not submitted.

Masters:

  • Master of Saber
  • Master of Lancer
  • Master of Berserker
  • Master of Caster
  • Master of Avenger
  • Master of Assassin

I'm trying to pick between Assassin and Caster for Sue's Servant... maybe Saber.

Cat-boy wasn't really supposed to be a Master but seeing the shortage of Masters he might end up as one.

Additionally two of the other Masters we require must have been one of the three magus that prepared this Holy Grail War. Velnias was the one that contributed the Servant system and that's why she was able to cheat and get a double Servant.

I'll see if I can make a decent Lancer or just use Brunhilde. Still, if somebody wants that spot please apply to it.

  • Name: Myūdenokudara Saikō (生解由百濟 最高))
  • Birthplace: Abashiri, Hokkaidō
  • Age: 18
  • Master Of: Probably none.
  • Physical Description: Saikō is of average height for a Japanese girl with short, functional (but somehow still messy) black hair. She has a pair of glasses but attempts to wear them as rarely possible, finding the sensation of them upon her face to be irritating and using them only for reading. She has a rather average scrawny build and has a sense of fashion rivaled in its awfulness by only the most powerful of mages.
  • Family Backstory: Tracing back their heritage to the Kingdom of Baekje, the ancestors of the Myūdenokudara clan were famous magical "sculptors" who fled to Japan in 661, quickly becoming one of the leading magical clans of the time, especially because of their ability to distribute magical texts imported from the mainland. Eventually becoming based in Hiroshima, they lost much of their influence in the wake of the Genpei War in 1185, built up their power, lost most of it during the Azuchi-Momoyama period, before slowly building it up, and seeing it explode in the Meiji restoration. The Myūdenokudara clan heavily aligned itself with Japanese fascism-militarism-imperialism in the Showa period, and lost almost everything in World War II. The current elder of the clan, Myūdenokudara Kiyomori (生解由百濟 清盛), was a prisoner in the USSR before he returned to Japan, picked up the shattered pieces from Hiroshima (most of the surviving members had committed mass suicide after Emperor Showa's humanity declaration and Imperial Japan's unconditional surrender), and restablished the clan in Abashiri, Hokkaidō. He was a non-magus from a branch family of the Myūdenokudara family, but had untapped magical potential and after inheriting all of the power of the clan, became quite an accomplished magus. The Myūdenokudara have recently found themselves revived as one of the wealthiest magical clans in the world, using much of their magical talents toward the operation of a keiretsu, although they are often mocked as a magical "sick man" for hemorrhaging influence and power as Japan economically declines, a fact that the clan, still rabidly jingoistic and supremacistic (something that seriously annoys most other clans), refuses to recognize.
  • Backstory: Myūdenokudara Saikō was born as the eldest, but illegitimate daughter of the 38th generation of the Myūdenokudara family. Her father, Myūdenokudara Kagetsune (生解由百濟 影経), and the eldest son of the 37th generation of the Myūdenokudara family, was a notorious womanizer in his youth. Saikō was born a very sickly and magically incapable child, having no elemental affinity whatsoever. Her grandparents immediately deemed her an inadequate candidate for the family crest, which eventually went to her younger half-brother, and eldest son of the 38th generation. As a child, Saikō carried the stigma of having little magic potential, and as a result, never recieved any magical training. Her first attempt to send her to "standard" schooling, something considered quite embarassing for the family, ended in failure as Saikō was bullied until her health failed and she had to be hospitalized. In desperation, her grandparents pulled her out of schooling and created a homunculus, Shinpū, to care for her, especially because her father, who had become a well-respected researcher, was almost consistently absent on research trips. When she was 10, Shinpū, due to the limited life span of many homunculi, died. It shocked Saikō into hospitalization once again, sending the clan elders into disarray again. Soon later, she gained a stepmother who essentially forced her into magical schooling. There, she somehow discovered that despite her inaptitude with many spells, she had a very strong ability to harness prana. Being first for the first time in something eventually made her supremely arrogant, and often unwilling to seriously study magic, much to her mother's distress. Because of her tendency to constantly badger and order Saikō around, Saikō originally despised her stepmother, but that has cooled down. Saikō, instead of studying normal topics, became obsessed with studying homunculi and how to create the "perfect homunculi". After seeing her efforts to research homunculi continually frustrated and laughed at by a skeptical magical community, Saikō thought of a way to gain recognition and respect...
  • Abilities:
    • Special Abilities:
      • Saikō can call upon an extremely high amount of od, having 42 different magical circuits with a supposed average maximum output of 215 units of prana, an amount several hundred times higher than most mature Magi. Despite that, she is not actually considered a "hyper-powerful" Magus because of her awful ability to harness Mana, and because of that, a large part of that (clearly inflated) count is because her magical circuits just unconsciously draw upon mana. The number of magical circuits also makes her body extremely hot and makes it very difficult for her to conceal her presence when using magic. In addition, Saiko's only elemental affinity is toward ether and ether only (which usually needs to be combined with other elements to be useful), making it very difficult to precisely execute complicated spells (which are mostly elemental, although she can create a lot of ether clump very easily). Her offensive abilities, besides basic spells and non-elemental support spells, generally revolve around attempts to overwhelm opponents with uncontrolled blasts of pure prana or to cancel their spells with her prana.

    • Spells:
      • Prana Negation: Continuous spell. Negate a Magi's ability to generate prana in exchange for negating an equivalent amount of your own prana. Reveals positions of both Magi to all other nearby Magi until ended. Highly ineffective against masters with servants who have independent action (although Saiko does not know that yet).
      • Clay Blessings: Create a lot of ether clump very quickly and shape it how you would like. Have fun.
      • Ether Bomb: Imbue any piece of ether clay or biological material (anything with nerves that be forcibly converted to magical circuits) with prana. Ineffective against Magi because they will easily reject such imbuing by naturally circling their prana. Any imbued prana will be then inaccessible by you, but you may detonate it anytime you wish, or set it to blow on the basis of predetermined triggers.
      • Various Basic Non-Elemental Spells: Stuff that any third-rate magi, even without elemental affinities, could do.

  • Name: Myūdenokudara Mariya (生解由百濟 真理家)
  • Birth Name: Mariya Yuriivna Hlushko (Марія Юріївна Глушко)
  • Place of Birth: Vladivostok, Soviet Union
  • Age: 27
  • Master Of: Not Assassin
  • Physical Description: Mariya is a tall busty woman (rendering her far superior to her daughter on both aspects) with waist-length shiny blonde hair. She has sharp hazel eyes, a sharp nose, and is notorious for underdressing for the weather (by wearing too much in the summer and too little in the winter).
  • Backstory: Mariya Yuriivna Hlushko was born to a working-class Ukranian family in the eastern port of the Soviet Union, Vladivostok. Her father was killed in an industrial accident (yay Soviet safety standards) shortly before the collapse of the Soviet Union. Her family was unable to enjoy any of the new-found riches of the post-Soviet period and plunged into abject poverty. Her mother died of a mix of alcoholism and easily preventable diseases, making her situation all the worse. Mariya was eventually smuggled to Japan to work in the water trade but found herself much luckier than the vast majority of trafficked individuals. Because of her remarkable gift with languages, Mariya found herself in a sketchy hostess club as opposed to outright prostitution. Myūdenokudara Kagetsune, the slightly playboyish eldest son of the 37th generation of the Myūdenokudara family stumbled upon her and was shocked to note her natural genetic potential with magic after a "social encounter" with Mariya, especially with summoning, a skill that had long faded from the Myūdenokudara bloodline despite how heavily they valued it. It had always been an embarrassment especially since they once had a rivalry with the Einzberns until summoning dissipated from their bloodlines, especially as the Myūdenokudara clan had become notorious among for constantly championing Japanese "racial superiority" (in a very annoying and assertive manner despite their non-Japanese background). Kiyomori actually spoke passable Russian from his stint as a WW 2 POW, but that also came with an acute anti-Soviet sentiment (and it wasn't as if he could differentiate Soviets, Russians, and Ukrainians). But to restore summoning back into the Myūdenokudara bloodline, and to finally rein down their "irresponsible" son into becoming a "respectable Japanese man", Kiyomori thought they could tolerate a little "racial pollution". He would later refer to foreign blood as like "fugu". He was already prepared for this, he had been funding several orphanages in China and Russia out of primarily WW 2-derived guilt, but they were also feverishly looking for children of magical potential (as the Church was very weak in both countries and couldn't take over that function). To Kagestune's shock, Kiyomori ordered him to immediately marry the now 20-year old Mariya. Mariya had no complaints; it was clearly a substantial step up for her. Despite the great agony it caused Kagestune to finally "settle down", Mariya was quickly entered into their koseki, became Kiyomori's student in magic, and produced a son and daughter for the 38th generation of the Myūdenokudara clan, both of whom Kiyomori took into his personal custody after he learned they indeed had great potential in magic, including in summoning. It saddened her, but she accepted it as part of her duty and obligation to the clan. Kagestune indeed became more "respectable", but still never lost his wanderlust, becoming an accomplished wandering researcher. Besides her studies, she dedicated the rest of her time to her step-daughter, intent on making her into a "respectable" magus, much to Kiyomori's delight. Although she made great progress on doing so, her stepdaughter remained stubborn and often obsessed with strange magical topics. Hearing about a possible future Holy Grail War, she proposed the idea of helping to create one and bringing along Saikō. Kiyomori was delighted by the idea. Despite his blatantly chauvinistic racial supremacism, Mariya had easily entered into his good graces (doing everything for the clan that he had dreamed of), and he sent her off with all the materials needed, including various mystic codexes, buying an entire estate in the city for her, various homunculi, and everything he could muster with his immense fortune and power to help her win.
  • Abilities:
    • Special Abilities: Growing up in the industrial and heavily polluted city of Vladivostok, Mariya developed a heavy affinity with the elements of Earth and Wind, most notably their sub-elements of metal and lightning. Under Kiyomori's tutelage, she has gained a profound control of magnetic fields. Mariya has an above-average amount of magical circuits with above-average efficiency, but isn't considered fantastic, like her daughter is. She is confused why her daughter sometimes mockingly calls her Magneto when she lectures her on magecraft.
    • Spells:
      • Absolute Magnetoception: With your expanded powers of magnetoception, you may always tell exactly where you are, including what direction you are facing, what altitude you are at, and where on a map she is. You can prime any piece of metal and gain the same information. You can attempt to prime people, but magi naturally reject such priming by simply circling their prana.
      • The Marauder's Map: This spell was named by Myūdenokudara Saikō from something in some British book. You may take any map, paper or electronic, and view it as a real-time map depicting every magnetic object, both naturally or primed (your choice), in real-time.
      • Technophobia: With your natural aptitude with metal, electricity, and magnetism, instantly fry any electronical device.
      • Magnetic Manipulation: Create, shape, alter, and destroy magnetic fields at your will. Of course, being artificially generated by magecraft, these fields are not permanent unless combined with a Maxwell coil, or anything. You may also turn any device, inanimate or living, into an electromagnet. Obviously does not apply to magi for reasons mentioned before. Can be used...creatively.
      • Kudaranoemi: Not an actual spell, but a Mystic Code passed down the Myūdenokudara, and their most powerful and famous. Dating back to early 1st century southwestern Korea. It is a small figurine of a woman with a disturbing smile. Not much else is known about it, since no previous member has been willing or capable of expend the energy required to activate it, but has theorized to possibly create something close to true magic, considering its ancient origins.

I'm going to be highly entertained if Justa's Chaotic-Good/Originally-Archer Avenger is Robin Hood. Just cause of our most recent incarnation of "him."

Anyway, I was playing around with a Master idea who provided the land for the War. Something to the effect of:

<name>'s family has fallen greatly out of power in the past 200 year. The blame the modernization of the world for this for <reason>. He donated the still spiritually strong lands in hopes of obtaining the grail and resetting humanity back to a more medieval level of development. Obviously he highly romanticizes ancient times, and scorns on anything modern.

Okay, I have a draft up. I'm quite aware the character has God Mode Sue written all over him, so I've done my best to tone him down. If he's still too good, let me know and I'll adjust accordingly or resubmit. I'm also aware he's not using a polearm..I was focusing more on the agility and combat skill aspect of the Lancer class than the weapon, but if that's not acceptable, I'll resubmit another one.

  • True Name : Sun Wukong
  • Class : Lancer
  • Gender : Male
  • Height / Weight : 1.8m / 56kg (am not sure on this, but given his abilities, it can really be anything he wants)
  • Alignment : Chaotic Good
  • Stats :
    • Strength : B
    • Endurance : C
    • Agility : A
    • Magical Energy : D
    • Luck : E
    • Noble Phantasm : B
  • Class Skills :
    • Magic Resistance : B. Cancel spells with a chant below three verses. Even if targeted by High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals, it is difficult for him to be affected. Sun Wukong has survived being boiled in a cauldron with flames hot enough to kill gods for 49 days. Most magic spells simply pale in comparison..
  • Personal Skills :
    • Clairvoyance : C. Sun Wukong’s magic eyes allow him to sense evil intent despite any disguise to the contrary. Can feel the presence of evil aligned Servants using Presence Concealment, though he cannot pinpoint their location; can detect evil-aligned mortal individuals however well disguised/hidden they are.
    • Divinity : A. Born of magical stone blessed by the heavens, as well as achieving buddhahood at the end of his pilgrimage, Sun Wukong is a divine figure just shy of a god.
    • Shapeshift : B. Sun Wukong has learned the 72 Transformations, and can shapeshift perfectly into any inanimate object or animal, or disguise himself (imperfectly) as any individual to a varying degree.
    • Disengage: D. His immense speed allows Sun Wukong to escape most unfavourable situations, though it does nothing to alleviate the unfortunate circumstances.
  • Noble Phantasms:
    • Jingu Staff - Anti-army : D+ / Anti-personnel : A
Sun Wukong’s signature weapon, a 8,100 kg staff capable of changing its size from needle sized to skyscraper sized and above (though it is rarely used at such an extreme size) at will. Sun Wukong mostly uses it as a quarterstaff, though he can lengthen it and use it to sweep entire armies. It is hidden in his ear in needle form until he needs to draw it.
  • Army of Hairs - Anti-army : C / B+++ for clones
Sun Wukong can transform the hairs on his body into objects and minions, ranging from extremely weak scouts up to mildly inferior clones of himself. Creating clones consumes such immense amounts of prana that it can only be done sparingly and only for up to 30 seconds or so without an alternative prana source.
  • The 3 Hairs - Support : C
Aside from the usual hairs on his head, Sun Wukong carries 3 special hairs, given to him by the Goddess of Mercy at the start of his pilgrimage. Meant to be used in dire emergencies, they allow Sun Wukong to escape death by transforming into an item that will save him. Functions rules-wise similarly to Heracles’ Nine Labours, though it only works 3 times;
  • Appearance : An anthropomorphic monkey, dressed in shining armor. There's a good picture for reference on the Journey to the West page.[1]

As for creating another character, I'm not sure I can manage 2.. so I think I'll pass on creating a master unless it really is necessary.

Sun Wukong is accepted.

Lets see... Anthiens hasn't posted anything since she reserved that spot, and she hasn't answered my PM so if somebody prepares a Caster before we hear again from her, that person gets the spot.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.

No, neobowman we can't.

There aren't enough little girls to befriend.

Nanoha requieres at least 4 to make an appearance.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.
