So I came up with this idea, and I want to know what you guys think.

Much like the Album Exchange Club (which it is modeled after, nak) we will exchange things weekly. But instead of exchanging albums we exchange web addresses! I'll come up with some more guidelines as we go along, but for now, for a website to qualify, it must meet the following criteria—

  • It may not be a well known site (no one really needs to be introduced to Google unless they're a first time computer user)
  • It may not be a porn site (violation of Forum Rules, sorry)
  • It may not be exclusively a forum (too much potential for people to export flame wars, and I don't want to be responsible for that.)
  • It may be; an odd thing, a personal site, a blog, an art site; anything that strikes your interest as even somewhat "out of the ordinary".

To be a Merry Madcap, one must be willing to do the following—

  • be at least marginally polite
  • be eccentric
  • be COOL
  • tolerate memes. Because I get the feeling that if this is successful, many memes will come forth.
  • identify themselves as such if they happen to join a site linked to here. We want to spread the joy of the Merry Madcaps.

The interested may sign up below with a human sacrifice for me PM for a submission for the first round of internet visiting. Which will be chosen by random number generator.

edit: A list of the current sites up for visitation will be posted on my user page, but I must ask that you not deliberately visit any of these sites before their number comes up. As I want us all on the same page, and I don't want to swamp newbies with a flood of old stuff.

Sounds interesting. Ought we ask submitters to include a brief description as well?

Yes.

Actually, don't PM me your submission. Just post it.

I'll post mine in a bit, deciding between two.

Slightly bizarre flash games, most of them of the rather puzzly, exploratory sort.

Okay; that will be Number One when we start picking submissions.

This will be number two.

http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/ Unexplained Mysteries (UM for short) is a news site/forum focusing on...well, mysteries.

The news stories they report are poorly researched, sensationalist, and many are simply boldfaced lies. Which is what makes the thing so damn entertaining, a word of advice, most of the people on the fora there are not terribly smart. But that's not the part of the site I'm reccing.

Not Always Right is amazing.

Especially the thing with the guy claiming to be a lawyer.

It's an impressive Archive Binge if you let it; they've been posting probably-daily for years.

Always give the people in the service profession an easy time, because not every one will.

I have never worked for any company that follows the philosophy of "the customer is always right". Some customers seem to think this, though.

Some jobs traditionally considered to be for the poorly educated have that as part of their motto, or somesuch. My mother works at McDonald's, and it's part of their thing.
