Not gonna lie, I'd love to see Goemon in Smash. Sure, we've got the ninja basics covered with Sheik and Greninja, but neither of them have a chain-pipe or a giant robot!

We need more pirates.

... no seriously, we already have a bit of a Pirates Vs Ninjas theme going with King K. Rool, Ridley, and Dark Samus, plus Greninja and Sheik. Let's go all the way and throw in Captain Syrup, Cervantes, Musashi (from Sushi Strikers), Ryu Hayabusa, and Sub-Zero.

Say guys...what could be your reactions if the roster count of the game (Either by base or DLC) reaches up to 100 characters?

I'd much prefer the chronological order of when the character was introduced that was done with Smash 4's All Star Mode.

There is some kind of pushback and grumblings I've seen that the CSS is ordered by number and not by series like past Smash games.

I don't see it happening at launch, but it'd be awesome if we got enough DLC characters (unique or Echo Fighters) to boost the character count up to 100.

I mean, to be fair, there's not much more to Simon than that. He's been a Silent Protagonist in his own games, which is exclusively the arcadey first one and the divisive second one... And remakes of course. Probably why they brought in Richter too, since he has, among other things, some famous lines.

Again, I think it'd be awesome, though I don't think it's necessarily guaranteed. Maybe if Nintendo sticks with Ultimate long enough and makes enough DLC to get there.

Shock that we got more newcomers than any previous game in the franchise despite Sakurai's warning, but enjoyment nevertheless.

But realistically I'm only expecting four or five more full newcomers at launch. Echoes are anybody's guess, though.

Depends on how long it takes to hit 100. Going from a character count in the mid-70s to 100 is a huge jump. I'd have serious concerns about the quality of the new characters if we hit 100 in anything less than 5 years of DLC support.

Probably something along the lines of "100?! THAT'S FUCKING INCREDIBLE!!"

Not sure what else you were expecting. I do think that 80 fighters in the base game, including Echo Fighters, is plausible, so an extra 20 more is totally within the realm of reality, assuming the game does well enough and is supported long enough for 2 seasons of DLC.

There was that one Dead or Alive game for the 3DS, wasn't there? That along with Ninja Gaiden being a classic NES title gives a little more weight to Ryu's inclusion in some way.

Also, my own crack wish for playable in Smash is Alfred Chicken. That was the only NES game I owned back in my childhood.

Brawl's Css wasn't ordered by series...the top row had most of the original roster next to eachother.

With their representatives scrolling down.

Then it just gave up.

I'm still pleasantly surprised K. Rool got in. I bet its a real source of pride for the original team of Donkey Kong Country.

That's still ordering by series. Brawl just did it by columns instead of rows.

There's also Ninja Gaiden III (the one from the rebooted series) and Warriors Orochi 3 (which had Ryu Hayabusa as a playable character), both of which were ported to the Wii U.
