I used a rod on my Huney to take it on. I would use Rodeo Drive, roll back, heal, cast deband when it wore off, run back towards it and repeat. I think I died once, and there were a few close calls, but it worked fine.

I noticed some old friends from past games (namely the Rappy and Boomba) and don't seem to encounter them too often or in certain fields. Anyone know if they show up anywhere outside of quests or if there are any other special guests?
They're rare monsters. You can find them on any map story, quest, or standard field map, but only occasionally.
They will also spawn in rooms that have already been cleared, just as a heads up.
So...what's this game all about, anyway? I've been wanting a good new DS game for a few weeks, now.
Ah, thank you for clearing that up for me.
And to answer your question Elec, Phantasy Star Zero is a futuristic RPG for the DS revolving around "Hunters" (guns for hire for random tasks) and the world they live on. This time it's about (what I could only assume to be) post near apocalyptic Earth and an attack by Newmans (this games take on spellcasters) as well as what happened to cause "The Great Blank" which is the period of time in which the apocalyptic event was taking place and cause quite literally Laser Guided Amnesia of the time period. Someone correct me if I'm wrong or missed anything.

Well, technically Newmen can be jack of all trades. Newmen Forces are spell casters.
Basically, think Post-Apoc Sci-fi Anime Diablo for the DS.

Hmm. Never played Diablo, but I've seen some good reviews for it (Phantasy Star Zero, that is). I guess I'll give it a try.
Very aptly put Miijhal. Kudos.
Well, just finished all the quests on my Huney (excluding the Eternal Tower). Time to move onto the human storyline
I'd be willing to help anyone run through Eternal Tower during the weekend. Having gone through it helps a bit, as well as having a competent ally instead of the usual AI tard running around. Just post up a note and I'd be happy to help.

It'll depend on whether I have time, but I may be up for it.
I've been playing on Hard mode, and I gotta say, it's kicking my ass. They've really ramped up the difficulty from what the next step up was in PSO I & II. The Double class of weapons have become useless unless fighting a boss unless you can make it hit multiple targets at once, because the hostiles will overrun you. Allies are still just as useless. The enemy parts drop fairly easy though, got Garapython Fangs on my first run through the valley.
P.S. Been playing it for a little while longer now. The weapons and armor that get dropped make everything preposterously easier.

Final boss beaten (twice). I'm tired of playing the "free play" online mode dude to horribly limited features (you can't change the map? Really?), so if you guys would like to try tackling hard mode, I'll be available for online play this weekend and much of next week. I'm really glad all the maps are open to you in hard mode right from the getgo, makes things a lot easier for online play. We could play a game all the way from the basic levels to Falz if we wanted to...or, you know, if we don't get horribly killed.
I'd still like to do the Eternal Tower. Even if we don't finish it there's still a chance of getting something noteworthy out of it, and if we do, five extra inventory slots.
if you wanna try doing hard mode, your gonna want to be level 45+. I'm at 46 right now, and I've only killed Mr. Cthulhu once by myself. He does drop good stuff, but his twin tendil drill attack once he's on the outside of the platform is almost always lethal. Do you really get 5 extra inventory slots, because I still have the normal amount and I've gone through it?
You get 5 inventory slots for finishing the Eternal Tower on normal and hard, and 10 for super hard. You have to collect them as rewards at the storage counter.
(I still need to do it on normal right now.)

Well then looks like we'll all be running through there as a team. Excuse me for being nosy, but what level are your main characters? I want to know so I can level up appropriately to try to keep the levels balanced out.
Late thirties right now, so you should be good. I'm trying to complete all the story modes before I go into hard mode.
Just in case anyone wants anything, I've stocked up on a bunch of random items for other classes since I'm gonna have one of each. just throwing that out there for ya'll to consider. (they're mainly ranger weapons, but there's force ones too)

I have the two weapons I'll need: Selvaria's Spear and Caduceus. Both enhanced to their limits. :P
I'm level 39, and haven't been doing nearly as much weapon-enhancing as I should. I've got a rifle, a gunblade, and a mechgun. They're decent, but they don't pack nearly enough of a punch for hard mode. The mechgun works pretty well, but has an awful photon art (spinning death). There just aren't a lot of good ranger weapons, are there? I mean, I was really disappointed in the bazookas and cannons...they're pretty much worthless.
The Carl Gustav, Adrastea, and Vthraghna are pretty good in my opinion for bazookas and cannons. And the Schmeisser seems like a decent mechgun. As far as rifles go, I've gotten my hands on quite a few Gerhildes that aren't too shabby.
On that note, anyone care to play a bit tonight?
I suppose I could evade my nagging mother for a while longer. sure, I'm in ^ ___ ^
It's not so tough to do for me...provided he's not trying to molest me with is tentacle legs. And the orbs eventually orbit pretty far away and then you can just waltz up and stab him repeatedly with just enough time to roll out of the way of the of the incoming balls. Also, attacking the orbs is a decent way to damage him, so taking them out is at least worth doing half of the time.
