Really? The Vader scene has to come into play, and the Tantive IV's escape. I'd say at least five or six pages to go.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"It's hilarious how every time we approach the end of a film, there's discussion here about how many strips there are to go, and everyone always vastly underestimates the number.
Yeah, I was doubting even my five or six strip count right after I posted it.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"So... Closer to 20, then?
(Annoyed grunt)Yeah, I guess it would be possible to rush through the Darth Vader scene in one strip, but why would you when it's the best scene in the movie?
Oh man. I reread the latest strip and something caught my eye:
Looking now, it's clear the GM is listing off two new potential PC's on the ship. But I misread that as the GM saying Princess is the daughter of Bail Organa and Captain Antilles. Which had me furiously wondering how Bail went from being married to "moon flower" to being partners with Captain Antilles.
In that case, Antilles should be in the possessive form as well
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youDid we completely skip over the scene of the Rebel cruiser being disabled in battle, or am I misremembering the sequence of events in the film?
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I think we did, yes.
Keybounce has a point: the Rebel soldier's denials in Episode IV seem kind of weird in context with the ending of Rogue One. That had never occurred to me, honestly.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I remember a few people on this forum discussing that point when Rogue One came out.
It retroactively adds some subtext of frustration to Vader's interactions with Captain Antilles. Vader saw the blockade runner fleeing the Battle of Scarif, and now the ship's captain is claiming they're a consular ship on a diplomatic voyage? No wonder Vader choked the guy instead of questioning him further.
And in Captain Antilles' defense, I don't think he actually expected Vader to believe his lie. He probably knew he was a dead man no matter what he did, so he gave some BS in hopes that if he stalled Vader for long enough, Leia could escape with the plans somehow.
I remember reading something on the wiki (can't find it now) about the subtext it adds to Leia's conversation with Vader. They both know she's bullshitting, daring him to call a Senator's bluff in front of the Senate itself.
And then the Emperor decides to short-circuit that whole process by dissolving the Senate and approving the destruction of Alderaan, basically deciding to stop playing nice with his subjects and taking away any legitimate power Leia has to oppose him.

You’d be amazed at the brazenness you can find in real life conflicts, aparently if you go to MI 6 HQ in London (which is marked as such on tourist maps) they will with a strait face say that it’s a foreign office building (which it technically is). Likewise a lot of real life spies operate under diplomatic cover, and will insist on pretending that that cover is real no matter how obvious a lie that is.

Tarkin's terrible French accent gets me every time. Also, the end of the session? So they're just dropping Leia's (*cough* Princess') big closer?
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Dear lord, it's gotten even worse.
I don't think I'm ever going to stop laughing at "Unpossibleu".
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youAlso, it's specifically hyperspace tracking that's said to be "Unpossibleu!" Getting in that foreshadowing for The Last Cheddar Monk...
Oh, I see. They are doing the rest of the film, just in a different gaming session.

My own guess is that the emitter was simply the easiest thing to aim at / get a lock on.
