That's really cool! I hope you enjoy the series! Kishimoto make lots of references to Japanese folk lore and mythology with his character names and attacks which is really fun to spot.
To feel free to share your thoughts about the series if you want.
Thanks, I also had to look up a guide online to tell me which episodes are purely filler and that I should skip without worry.
If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned.Yeah, the series does have a major problem with filler arcs, but they can now all be safety skipped. I will say that there are three or four comedy filler arcs that are actually pretty funny like the Kakashi Mask episode. If after getting into the series, you ever want some funny omake-esq stuff, I would recommend looking at some of the lists of best filler arcs.
Shino laughing Filler is glorious.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianThe filler arc when we see Kakashi's days as an Anbu, is actually quite good, and deserves to be watched along with the main story.
(Shippuden episodes 349–361)
Every Hero has his own way of eating yogurtI also think a lot of War Arc Filler Episodes are quite good, like the one where Lee and Sai become friends, or the one focusing on Torune and Shino.
Of course, then there is Yota.....
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianI watched all of it a couple of years ago when i had a bad time at uni. At the time, the series was just about done. So yea, no harm in being late to the club.
I hope you enjoy it!
Apologies though, i re-read my post and it came off as more confrontational than i intended.

x5,
IIRC, the Kakashi's mask episodes are adaptations of omake that Kishimoto wrote and put into the Naruto databooks.
Update on the live action film from Variety: Destin Daniel Cretton is directing and writing now: https://variety.com/2024/film/news/naruto-film-lionsgate-destin-daniel-cretton-1235920799/

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Anyway Kishimoto's thoughts on his idol akira Toriyma's passing.
I grew up with Dr. Slump in the lower grades of elementary school and Dragon Ball in the upper grades, and it was natural for me to have his manga next to me as part of my daily life. Even if I had a bad experience, watching Dragon Ball every week made me forget about it. It was a relief for me, a country boy who had nothing. Because Dragon Ball was really fun! It was when I was a university student. Suddenly, the Dragon Ball that had been a part of my life for so many years ended. I felt an incredible sense of loss and didn't know what to look forward to. But at the same time, it was also an opportunity for me to truly understand the greatness of the teacher who created Dragon Ball. I also want to create works like yours! I want to be like my teacher! As I followed in my teacher's footsteps and aspired to become a manga artist, that feeling of loss began to disappear. Because making comics was fun. I was able to find new fun by following my teacher. My teacher has always been my guide. I admired it. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I would like to express my gratitude to the teacher. For me, he was the god of salvation and the god of manga.
When we met for the first time, I was so nervous that I couldn't say a word. However, after meeting him many times at the Tezuka Prize screening committee, we became able to talk. As Dragon Ball Children, I and Mr. Oda went back to being children again, and when we talked excitedly about how much Dragon Ball was fun, as if we were competing with each other, I forgot how he looked a little shy and smiled. I can't.
I have just received the news of the death of my teacher. I feel an even greater sense of loss than when Dragon Ball ended... I still don't know how to deal with this hole in my heart. Now I can't even read my favorite Dragon Ball. I don't feel like I've been able to properly write this sentence that I want to convey to my teacher. Everyone around the world was still looking forward to seeing your work. If Dragon Ball's one wish really comes true...I'm sorry... Maybe that's selfish, but it's sad, sensei.
Thank you, Akira Toriyama-sensei, for all of your enjoyable works over the past 45 years. And thank you very much for your hard work.
We are sure that the remaining family members are still deeply hurt. Please take care of yourself. I pray that Mr. Akira Toriyama rests in peace.
Masashi Kishimoto
Just found this AMV, set to the THE Amv song of Naruto: Silhouette.
Ok. I thought I was doing something wrong, but I think there's a problem with Embedding. Just wanted to point that out.
One Strip! One Strip! So Kurama is back.
我が斬艦刀に断てぬものなし!Of course the writers couldn't commit.
That should really go under a spoiler tag
I mean, it got me to actually read this chapter of Boruto.
But yeah. Spoilers are probably for the best.
Dude, the idea that Tailed Beasts can come back even after being killed was established with the 3 Tails.
Rin died and took it with her when Kakashi killed her, but the Mizukage still became its tailed beast later because it came back.
So I'm not seeing it as the writers not committing so much as being just accurate to how tailed beasts work.
Watch Symphogear- On the one hand, yeah, it was established the Tailed Beasts never really die.
- On the other hand that was a stupid bit of lore the series never needed, and we see the detriment it poses to lore right here - Kurama dying was just a Death Of Personality. Sad for Naruto but not truly putting him at risk of permanent death in anything but a spiritual sense.
Since the Tailed Beasts were said to be Chakra incarnated, it made sense for them to be indestructible.
It also made the lore about the need for hosts to contain their power make sense, because since the beasts can't be destroyed, there was no other option but to seal them inside a person or thing; otherwise, they could destroy the world.
(The other option is to treat them well, so that they are not hostile to humanity even when free, but well, humans will be humans)
Every Hero has his own way of eating yogurtWe didn't know they were "chakra incarnate" until a good bit into the series though. The tailed beasts were entities based off of Japanese folklore. The first scene of Kurama had him smashing the village, and this was back before saw ninja throwing nukes and meteors around or had any conceivable defense against kaiju.
The lore about needing hosts didn't require the beasts being invincible to make sense, and that wasn't a thing until they threw that lore in during Part 2. They're demons. Demons/mythological creatures get sealed in things all of the time.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Actually, while you are correct and I AGREE with you, that doesnt necessarily exclude being chakra incarnate... But the real problem here is that we in the beggining DID see chakra as a finite resource. So while there is no contradiction in the Kyubi being chakra incarnate, there IS in saying he's immortal and not even the death of his host with him inside can kill him.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Cross post from the Dragonball Z Thread. The fifth opening of the original series with Dragonball characters (based off the Buu Saga)
This has always been one of my favourite openings, just for the visuals (and the rather desperate tone of it).
One Strip! One Strip!I love Seishun Kyosokyoku SO MUCH. It was one of the things that allowed me to get rid of my hatred of the Naruto series and start legit loving it.

I know I’m a few decades late but I’ve just started watching the original series on Netflix (thanks to my recent interest in Japanese culture).
