I mean, if you can get a village to ditch their Tailed freaking Beast for a chance at nuking another village, you're probably controlling it very well. So the 3rd was probably a puppet like the 4th Mizukage.
Secret SignatureSasuke only survived via the mother of all Asspulls. Deidara had him dead to fucking rights after driving him exhaustion.
Nah, Deidara lost. The only thing he had left at that point is a self-destruction that would end in a tie.
That said, it wasn't an asspull either. Summoning is instantaneous as is genjutsu control and Sasuke's so fast he can bridge 50-100 feet of distance in less than a second.

And it's mentioned that Sasuke and Manda both got hit still before Sasuke was able to unsummon although Manda took the brunt of the attack.

"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."The asspull was him having enough chakra to summon Manda despite not being able to maintain the Sharingan.
And all that happening in a fucking nanosecond. Yeah I don't buy it.
Also Deidara did win. At that point both he & Sasuke reached a stalemate due to both succumbing to exhaustion leaving either unable to act.
Only unlike Sasuke Deidara had one last trick in the bag. Taking someone with you is still a win.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."uhh no Sasuke also had one last trick in the bag, that's why he's alive and Deidara died.
The Great Snake Escape was bullshit, but he still won.
........ Alright point taken.
At least we can all agree it was a bullshit trick.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Honestly they should have just had Tobi save him with his powers with Sasuke having no idea what happened to him.
Holy fuck that makes sense.
Like wow that gels unbelievably well in hindsight.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
shame on you Saiga... That would make too much sense!
Like letting Hinata die if you are just gonna revive everybody two chapters later!

I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!I think there would have been a massive outrage over that lol.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I'm pretty sure after killing Kakashi, killing Hinata would not have been that much of an outrage
hell It would have amped up the tension of Naruto confronting Nagato even more
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!I wonder if Kakashi was planning to kill off all those guys for real but back-tracked on the last second.
On one hand, I see no other reason to keep Hinata alive. On the other hand, you kinda need Kakashi to be present for the confrontation with Obito.
...You mean Kishimoto? Because otherwise your post doesnt make sense.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. It's not that I question Sasuke being able to summon Manda. You know what? I'll dig Sasuke having it prepared with a scroll or something.
It's summoning Manda, genjutsuing him, getting in his mouth
.....after Deidara has already exploded.
Yep, I was gonna say Kishi but that ended being Kakashi somehow.
So...not sure if this is the right place, but mostly-related question.
Say the Akatsuki were able to travel to multiple universes(for sake of simplicity, assume something like the various Shonen Jump crossover games). How do you think this would have affected their overall goal or methods? I could see something like them attempting to gather the strongest power in each Universe, or something like that? Or is there some alternate goal/method that is obvious but I'm overlooking it? I'm not fully sure, and I'd love some other opinions.
(Full disclosure, I ask because I plan on running a Shonen Jump Roleplaying Game, in the style of Kingdom Hearts and the like. I figured Akatsuki are an easy replacement for Organization XIII)
:smug:The goal of the Akatsuki, both the propaganda version and the real version, required power. SO yea, they'd look for that in alternate universes.
One thing.
If Sasuke had really completely run out of chakra then why didn't Orochimaru come out of him like the Itachi fight?
Edited by MadSkillz on Sep 21st 2019 at 12:11:52 PM
"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."Cause he most likely didn't. People say he ran out of chakra, but the fact that he summons a giant snake suggests otherwise. Seems to me that he deactivated his sharingan because he got cocky and thought that Deidara was no longer a threat. Also, he used them intensely and they may have hurt, it's established before that that's a thing.
And given that the explosion from Deidara barely moves horizontally (seriously, it's miles high but a few hundred meters across at most), it probably gave Sasuke plenty of time to do the trick.
I still think it's BS because the presentation of it is. It's just poorly conveyed when it didn't had to be. A simple "i shouldn't have dropped my guard" from Sasuke would be infinitely better. Or just showing his eyes hurting. It's also the only time this sort of trick is used. Summoning shenanigans is never brought up again, even when it's useful such as against Kaguya or Obito.

So apparently the next Bort anime arc is Bort teaming up with Kid-Nart.
Okay we really are going there. What other fan-fic plots are left?
Edited by slimcoder on Sep 21st 2019 at 2:53:06 AM
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."One of the Nardo movies/arcs had Boruto's Dad travel back in time and fight a villain along with his then ANBU dad and he didn't know it was him(the mask).
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. We've had Ninja ostrich and Itachi in cat ears. There's no plot,no matter how stupid, that can surprise me.
At least the menma stuff was interesting and led to some cool fighting (I've always liked the machinegun/laserbeam aspect of the TSB more than the actual biju bomb, the fight on water is cool, and the 9 animals he summons are an interesting idea that got left on the interesting-idea list.)
The Great Snake Escape could be made a lot less stupid if they just said that Sasuke summoned Manda around himself, instead of having to first genjutsu him and hop in his mouth before the explosion reached him.
Not too bothered by that. genjutsu-at-a-glance and incredible speeds of ninja (IIRC easily speed-of-sound though this is obviously not consistent) make me feel it's reasonable. It's for me more that it kinda comes out of nowhere and goes kinda nowhere.
Don't forget the ninja who were attacking Kakashi call it "Bloody Mist," too
