Naruto

The biggest problem with Naruto it glosses over the atrocities that would make for a great Senien series, in favor of being a usual shonen.

TBH, I do think sometimes peopele do nitpick it way too much at times.

I think Naruto is thematically inconsistent, for reasons besides Hard Work Hardly Works, and I also think the Uchiha and their relatives lessen and eventually damage the story and its setting. Those are 2 incredibly major problems that don't require more than a casual read to gleam.

While I don't think pointing out the setting is much darker than it presents itself is unfair, most of the things discussed last page do sound nitpicky because they require tonally dissonant Fridge Logic.

Acting Kage and one that all the other leaders including Kakashi condemned and called their enemy meaning that Sasuke did them a favor by killing Danzo.

No one but his teammates knows about that.

One of the more nitpicky ones is "Sasuke has a sealed record!?"

....I mean...and? He got a formal pardon for saving the world, and his records being sealed off makes sense when you're dealing with someone with literally world-affecting powers, who needs to operate in secrecy.

So I've been sort of re-watching the Chunin preliminaries and still think they're some of the best fights in the series.

Really like the Sand Siblings and all of their fights, I just love what unabashed assholes they are about the whole thing.

Did Sasuke learn to fly in the Chunin Tournament?

More like he learned to jump good & stay really long in the air.

I'm gonna assume they were moving really slowly or the arena extended.

So Bort hits a lot of plot points this month. We learn a bit more about Jigen too. Also Tsunade's Byakugou jutsu may have something to do with/be based on Karma itself.

Also Sai is the head of ANBU and steals Shikamaru's cigarettes so he doesn't smoke in public places

Okay so the guy who's trauma involves being raised under a black ops organization is now the leader of a black ops organization...... hmmmh not sure if that sounds right.

Ya know all this stuff with Kawaki would be heartwarming if the prologue didn't show that he will inevitably pull a Pain on the Leaf.

Other comments include the manga is running on V-Jump next chapter, they appear to be connecting Tsunade's forehead jutsu to Karma, Jigen appears to be an Otsuki, & they fucking brought back the Ten-Tails.

Jigen being an Otsuki at least gives us a reason to take him seriously.

I'm not convinced he is an Otsutsuki so much that he was the one who killed Kaguya's partner and gained Karma for his trouble, he doesn't have the Byakugan after all and that's been a pretty uniform thing for all of them thus far.

Well, it's nice they're at least attempting to make us think Jigen is a big deal.

Going back to the Chunin exam preliminaries, Naruto vs. Kiba was the slowest match, ever. It seems like every time Naruto gets hit you see a bunch of reactions or flashbacks about how he sucks, only for people to keep being surprised or cheering him on (Sakura, Hinata, and Lee) when he does get back up.

Besides Sakura vs. Ino, it might actually be the one I disliked the most because of that.

This is truth.

Looking back on it, Part 1's Naruto's fights tend to have awful battle choreography.

Naruto really couldn't do much of anything. No distinct Taijutsu, Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, couldn't even use his own jutsu (Shadow Clones) that well aside from Zerg Rushes.

If Sakura had to fight literally anyone else in that arena she would have lost, hard.

She was lucky to end up with the only competitor there with no outright offensive techniques or techniques in general that don't require extremely precise timing to work & even then she still lost.

Which is weird since he’d later take multiple Earth made knives in the back and an Earth made arrow through the shoulder and keep going for a bit.

Naruto must hit like a hundred hammers, even if we ignore the fact that Neji also got caught off guard too.

He hits Kiba a few times I believe.

Hell, he finished the fight with the Naruto Rendan.

That’s multiple hits right there.

Oh yeah, that's when he does that

He himself bit Kiba and then kicks him twice.

I started over again.

The clones attack lead into the 2nd hit.

I think he only hit Kiba that one time when he did the clone maneuver or something before going to the multi-hit finisher.

Okay so he hit him a couple times in-between.

Compare that to the multiple times Naruto was literally mauled and drilled by the Fang Over Fang technique.

Then with Neji....... I can't remember anything other than the final punch.

............ Good lord Naruo's fights were crap.

Well, Naruto heals fast, has a shit load of Chakra, and can soak up a lot of punishment...
