Its literally about her dad and Naruto being called out by someone whose not-Bolt makes complete sense.

Like, he enters a children's drawing contest and lost to Himawari because she put her emotions into the drawings while he didn't? Because that's totally something the judges (one of whom was apparently Naruto, so yay for nepotism) could tell? Stuff like that just doesn't click for me.

Yeah, seriously. Hokage's daughter wins a contest where the Hokage is one of the judges, with a saccharine picture of her and her father. In any other context this would be a comically obvious case of nepotism, but since Inoji has to learn some nebulous lesson, we're supposed to belive that everyone just loved her picture.

The only way it could be more absurd is if Naruto made a large donation to the gallery right after the contest and everyone still told Inoji that Himawari was just better.

Wasn't Naruto just presenting it rather than judging it?

Remember when Naruto had the records scrubbed clean on Sasuke's past to hide his crimes?

I love Dictator Naruto. It's actually quasi-realistic on how nepotistic these regimes usually are.

If he had actual siblings and cousin, I can guarantee that he'd be putting them in top positions in the government no matter how qualified they are for the job.

40 years from now, Naruto is going to be this Tywin Lanniser-esque figure.

Tbf his family isn't incompetent the way Cersei is. He told her to her face her she wasn't as smart as she thinks and Tywin actually makes sure not to give power to dumb as brick family members who can't do things right.

Cersei thinks it's gender but his Worthy Opponent in the show is the female Olenna Tyrell.

[up][up][up]Hokage is chosen by senior ninja gathering and just rubber stamping the strongest ninja in the village to be the military dictator. Of course there's no transparency, or checks and balances.

I loved the Toonami episode about Inojin's art. If nothing else, it gave us Boruto's terrible drawing of Cho Cho.

I mean secrets and deception are kind of a ninja's stock and trade aren't they? I mean its a shadey af thing to do but there has always been some Deliberate Values Disonance in Naruto.

I've actually gotten inspired to a write a story based off the clear signs of corruption & despotic elements in Naruto's government system.

Only ya know taken a bit more serious & realistically. tongue

[up] The problem is Naruto portrays all that in a infuriatingly childish & hypocritical manor without any self-awareness.

I mean the Ninja Villages are military dictatorships slash giant mercenary corporations that wage wars for money in addition to all manner of other shady things. Of course they're corrupt and despotic.

Its funny how thats actually a rather charming bit about Naruto's setting, its very dysfunctional like as mentioned Game of Thrones' own setting.

You can write a lot of stories about the various national & international issues that crop up from mercernary nations with a culture & economy tied deeply warefare.

But the series wastes the setting with shit like Sasuke being universally beloved by everyone even by people who should rightly still dislike him like A & everyone now being hunky dorey with each other.

Really, the things Sasuke done are small potatoes compared to some of the shit villages been doing as business as usual. He pretty much just went through emo phase.

What'd Sasuke do in the great scheme of things?

Murder a few samurai guards and take one of the Raikage's arm(who doesn't give a shit)? Eh.

Well he is an unlikable douche.

The man has a very punchable face.

Plus the idea of A liking him is unbeliavble considering what a major prick A is.

Helped a terrorist organization try to assassinate the Kages(Which is still a crime). Joined another terrorist organization by going rogue, killed a Kage, tried to murder Konoha ninja with sadistic glee, tried to murder his own ally with sadistic glee, tried to kill Killer B, helped terrorist organization in latest Ninja World War, and at the end tried to kidnap all tailed Beasts and plot to attack all Villages as a Dark Lord until Nardo stops him.

The Cloud has like zero room to talk given they tried to kidnap Kushina to take the Kyuubi and Hinata to harvest her eyes.

A's hypocrisy was hilariously horrifying.

Only he had the utter gall & lack of shame to cry foul on any slights against him while at the same time ignoring the atrocities & war crimes he himself committed.

Man without him who's left to commit atrocities now?

Let's be fair.

A country leader calling out someone else for supposed crimes while totally whitewashing the shit out of crimes they've committed is like the most realistic thing in Naruto.
