x2 The Uchihas at least brought it on themselves.
Even having two Uchihas cull them. One even being a former loser of the clan.
"The people we killed all had it coming! It was for the Greater Good and shit!"
I mean I wouldn’t want to work with the guy who killed his own Goddamn family.
Greator good or not Itachi is a messed up motherfucker to voluntarily slaughter his own family by himself & accentuate that it was the only choice.
Makes you think it really was all an excuse & he was just itching to try it his skillz on some test subjects.

Itachi was clearly messed up (not surprising for a child soldier) and was drinking the Kool-aid of the village propaganda.
Uh the Itachi novel in anime form confirmed most of the Uchihas were so psychotic Sasuke and Itachis dad kept his Mangekyo Sharingan a secret because then they'd kidnap Naruto, have him turn Kyuubi to destroy the village, and rampage to make the entire world kneel to glorious Uchiha master race.
Not to mention a lot of them were Madara sympathizers, and Madara wanted to kill the Uchihas as much as he wanted to destroy the rest of the village in the end.
The Uchihas Drank their own psychotic brand of Koolaid with LSD and blood of slain friends for power.

That sounds like the sort of propaganda people use to demonize the groups they want to get rid off. What's next, Uchiha made bread using blood of senjuu babies?
The fact that it's apparently cannon would make me lose faith in this franchise, if that hadn't happened already.
Why couldn’t Itachi just had been a fucking asshole?
Keep things simple as they say.
What, are you saying that making a guy who murdered his whole family into your series Paragon of Virtue was a bad writing decision? No way!
We already knew before this Mangekyo Sharingan was a power they got by happily murdering their loved ones. The anime even included a female Uchiha made Izanami to save the sole Uchiha left after a paychotic mad craze for Mangekyo lead several dozen Uchihas to their death as they killed each other for "UNLIMITED POWER".
My favorite was when it showed Indra was a Psychopathic Manchild mad dad didn't give him everything after he brainwashed people to do what he willed, then murdered his only friends who suporrted him for power, and created the Ninja warring states period solely to spite daddy.
Or my favorite: EVIL BRAIN CHAKRA.
Kishimoto can say what he wants; what we see of Itachi makes no sense as someone serving a greater good.
…Wait, they found a way to make the Uchihas even more fucked up? How do you do that?
At this point all that’s left is to make them really inbred cannibal rapists.
Huh the Uchiha Clan, the rednecks of Naruto.

Pretty sure the inbreeding happend eventually once Indra likely mindraped a bunch of women into having sex with him, because this is a man who had no concept of consent and brainwashing/mindrape and murder were the solutions to all his problems.
Like Itachi, Madara, Obito, Sasuke, etc.
Something not as serious, but still bugging me, is how Lee and his family are apparently the only people in the series to use "Western" name order. I get it, Bruce Lee reference and all that, but still.
We still don't know who Metal's mother is, right?
Probably adopted. Unless Eyebrows pop off and grow new humans.
That I can buy.
Rock Lee is an odd-looking human being that I think he may not be human after all.
So Delta has a Backup Body Drive and her main self is stored in her "drone".
Better watch out Bolt. Jigens a coming for you.
In case no one noticed, Kishi's new manga, Samurai 8, is out now.
Ooooooh, so that's what that is.
Caught back up on Bolt.
Mitsuki gets a pet cat, Mitsuki has a recap with Orochimaru over the Stone arc and we learn he needs to be mindwiped to keep his brain from dying if he becomes too mentally stressed, and now Mirai gets her own episode.
Also w get to see Kakashi be super goofy.

So looking at earlier episodes, was Kabuto's backstory majorly retconned or am I missing something?
Because the hints from the Chuunin exam stuff don't really mesh with what actually turned out to be up with him, at least as far as I can tell.

Mirai is great.
