We can't really determine how we'd act in absolute certainty without actually being in that position. And hopefully we'll never be in that position.

I'm reminded of a conflict that came up in psychology: at what level of involvement do people decide between the needs of the many or the needs of the few. I don't expect answers, I'm just gonna post some of the scenarios:

• Would you pull a lever diverting a train that would hit 5 people standing on a track to instead hit 1 person on a different track?
• Would you push someone off a bridge dooming them to be killed by a train if it meant saving 5 people standing further down the tracks?
• There are 6 people on a life raft, including you. Would you support pushing one off if it meant saving everyone else?

I've still never seen The Princess Bride.

Rock Lee's spinoff is getting an anime? Ugh. Can't say I was a fan of the juvenile humour. Though I know that's its main demographic.

Look, everyone, even if were to get into terrible situation with no food- which I think is clearly unlikely- and even if we do decide to resort to cannibalism- which I'm not saying we should- I think we're all ignoring the most important issue in there. Namely:

I call dibs on getting eaten last!

There was a fourth scenario, but I forgot it. IIRC, at the first, most people would pull the lever, but the further down you go, you'd get more ambiguity or absolute refusal to answer.

For myself, I'd go yes, no, yes, to those three, to the best of my knowledge. No to the second because of the main reasoning that the person on the bridge is in no way at fault. Again, we don't know for sure what would happen if we were in those scenarios.

Not as easy as 5 to one, though. There's also reproductive success and age, attachment to those people, if they're "good" people, how they got in the situation, and of course the most important factor, "how does this get me laid"?
