- Crosses the Line Twice: The whole point of the movie lies in this. The family in question partakes in all manner of controversial activities, including drug abuse, incest and physical abuse. Then the titular visitor shows up and tries to push them towards improvement by giving them a taste of acts even worse than that.
- Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: It's really hard to care about any of the main characters, when they're a family of depraved and deranged psychopaths who engage in domestic abuse, murder, rape, incest and necrophilia throughout most of the movie. And even though the titular "Visitor" is there to try and improve the family's lives by teaching them the error of their ways, the characters are so disgusting and vile that it makes you wonder what even the point is in hoping to see them improve, not helping matters is that his methods of trying to "teach" them are very morally dubious, to the point it becomes hard to root for him. Also said scenes of rape, abuse, violence, et cetera will be very off-putting to most normal people and will likely turn them away from the movie.
