- And You Thought It Would Fail: The initial announcement of a new TV movie for The Waltons was met with no small amount of scorn, as the franchise was over fifty years old and was outside of the CW's usual demographics. The film ended up giving the CW its highest viewership that year. Naturally, they immediately ordered a sequel.
