  • Angst? What Angst?: Chuck's family lollygagged so much to save him and Niven, you'd think they'd be far more bitter about it.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Atori is well known on Deviantart but nobody knows the show she came from.
  • Fanon Discontinuity: Fans prefer to ignore the creators saying Chuck is older than Starley and prefer it being the other way around.
  • Jerkass Woobie:
    • Glargg in "Being Glarg" when Chuck broke him down to despair after mind controlling him.
    • Chuck can be this in some episodes. It's implied he acts superior to others because he actually feels inferior. He even admits he just wants to be loved. In "Chicken Feed" Chuck hides in the closet because nobody loves him but PiPi forces him to stay on the show anyway.
  • The Scrappy: Chuck is not very liked by people who watch the show, due to his selfishness.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • In "Chicken Feed", Chuck cries because nobody loves him and everyone prefers Starley, the hate doesn't stop even after Starley defends him. Adele drops the hate she has for Chuck when she sees him being himself but when the internet is back on she ignores him again.
    • The plot of "Chicken Back Again". Chuck leaves his siblings to find new ones and when they find his abandoned ship, they believe he's dead and cry over him, they miss him a lot and desperately try to cope over losing their younger brother.
      • Even Glargg worries about Chuck. When the Get Em' Backs bring him up, Glargg looks sad for a moment and when Chuck returns home safely, he gets emotional.
  • They Copied It, So It Sucks!:
    • People accuse this show of ripping of Breadwinners due to similar character designs and being similarly loud and fast paced. However the creators said that they planned this show before knowing what Breadwinners was.
    • They also accuse the show of ripping off "Rocket Monkeys" due to being about incompetent Earth animals on missions.
  • The Woobie:
    • Hugo, when Chuck takes him for granted, it's hard not to feel bad for him, even when he is oblivious to being mistreated.
    • PAL is hopelessly loyal to Finley, but is treated like dirt by him.
