- Creepy Cute: Robin portrays Shephard as being affectionate towards his alien weapons (except for Barney the Barnacle), leading to them being this.
- Heartwarming in Hindsight: The black ops agent Lydia rejecting Adrian on the grounds that she's Happily Married becomes this as her voice actor, Cyh, would eventually marry Ian Riley, creator of Barney's Mind.
- Heartwarming Moments:
- Adrian in general is friendly towards his fellow Marines.
- Adrian is also very affectionate towards his alien weapons Sparky and Gill (except for Barney the Barnacle, though he later admits appreciation for his silence). At one point, Adrian pets Gill and coddles him.
- Tear Jerker: Adrian's speech after being captured by the G-Man.
- The Woobie: Adrian. He's probably the nicest protagonist in the "Mind" series and his thoughts really put how crappy his situation is into perspective.
