YMMV / Portal Reloaded

  • Better Than Canon: Although the mod is completely fanmade, plenty of fans think it might as well be considered part of Portal canon anyway. The mod does a good job at following the rules set by the series, and can easily be placed some time after the events of Portal 2 without much contradiction.
  • That One Rule:
    • It's very easy to forget that only objects from the future can enter Time Portals. The game tries to justify this rule by stating that doing so "violates the laws of causality", but all it does is turn into minor frustration when players try to carry a cube through a Time Portal, only to find out that they accidentally picked up the wrong one, and it despawns.
    • Just before Chamber 9, the A.I. announcer says that green fizzlers do not remove blue and orange Portals. However, the first puzzle to require exploiting the green fizzlers is Chamber 17, eight chambers later. It's common for players to get stuck at this point because they didn't realize the mechanic that had been mentioned that far back was only now relevant.
    • If you move a past cube, the future cube will disapear and be placed at the appropriate spot in the future. What the game never explains is that a past cube in motion won't constantly update the future cube. This is relevant in exactly one test chamber, in which you must cause the two cubes to collide in mid-air so they will land in the middle of two aerial faith plates.
