• Tear Jerker: Ice Cream's life story in "Revived Rivals." There, she revealed that she was an orphan who was pretty much ignored by everyone at school. She was also homeless and slept and lived under a fallen tree branch in a dark forest. She also had no food. She was also bullied mercilessly and physically by a different Basketball. The final kicker was Basketball throwing her off a cliff and she was badly injured as a result. After a few days, she ran away and built a raft to escape out to sea where she washed up on the island. Poor little mate.
  • What makes it worse is that when Ice Cream is telling her story, she sounds like she is crying. She is shown to be quite young as well. A kid, and yet she tells her story. It is just terrible to think a kid like her went through something like that.
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: While Ice Cream's backstory managed to make some viewers cry, others were less impressed. Not only can her backstory be seen as a glorified excuse for her racist tendencies towards Basketballs, but in trying to make her backstory as sad as possible, the Trauma Conga Line is amplified to the nth degree for who was previously seen as a scrappy character.
