• Informed Wrongness: Marinette is blamed for Kagami's akumatization on the grounds that the former made a bad call by declaring Adrien the winner in his and Kagami's bout. However, she was upfront that she couldn't be certain about her call, and since no one in-universe ever learns whom the real winner was, there's no confirmation that Marinette's call was actually incorrect (a Freeze-Frame Bonus even seems to show that Marinette was right). D'Argencourt is arguably more to blame for putting Marinette on the spot when she barely even knows the sport, then ignoring both the fact that she said she wasn't sure and Adrien's opinion that Kagami won to declare Adrien the winner, when he could have just abstained again and asked for a rematch. In fact, it's heavily implied D'Argencourt did this on purpose to spite Kagami for her rudeness earlier.
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: The show portrays Kagami sympathetically, as she's under pressure from her family's high expectations and lost because the call made against her was apparently biased. However, fans who are familiar with real life fencing rules have noted that Kagami made various illegal moves in her bout with Adrien and thus felt that she deserved to be declared the loser.
