  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Depending on how you interpret the song War (aka, The Perfect Storm), it's either about being unable to help a friend who's suffering from depression (and or the effects of drug use) or it's about losing a friend to suicide.
  • Tear Jerker: The song Happy Hurts in some ways.
    • Under the Knife, too
    • You Can't Kill Us is this on a happy tears level.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic: "Sorry About Your Parents" is about Abusive Parents/Parental Neglect and how to pick yourself up from a bad childhood. The problem are the lines "I know it's not your fault. It never is, is it? (is it? is it?)" The way she emphasises "is it?" makes some fans think she's victim blaming abuse victims.
  • Wangst: Subverted in Get Well. The protagonist is complaining about how her friends get together and talk about how their lives are unfair and unhappy, without actually doing anything to change that. She finally realizes how their negativity is preventing her from growing up herself and decides to leave the suicidal recital.
