- Anticlimax Boss: The final boss, a dragon, is extremely powerful, but can only spit fire that is easily dodged with jump shoes, and if you took the time to get the Muramasa Sword, dies in three hits.
- Fair for Its Day: The game comes off as quite sexist and a bit homophobic by modern standards, with the heroine receiving many offensive comments, and the Standard Hero Reward is refused due to the protagonist being female as well. However, it was also one of the first RPGs to feature a female protagonist. (Even though it's later revealed the protagonist is a genderswapped man.)
