• Bizarro Episode: Essentially a monologue featuring a companion and no Doctor, this is one of only a handful of flat-out comedy episodes ever produced for the series and the first-ever standalone (i.e. non-prequel) episode to focus entirely on a companion.
• Ship Tease: Clara asks the TARDIS if this is the first time the Doctor has "brought a girl home". At this point in the series, Clara's attraction to the Doctor is not disguised and in fact is confirmed in "The Time of the Doctor".
