• Growing the Beard: Elliot Desgagnes views Maree Noire as this, as it was the first time that they really got to work on a release and make sure that it felt right instead of just assembling it piecemeal while on tour and then running into the studio to crank it out before going right back out on tour again.
• Replacement Scrappy: Strongly averted with Patrice Hamelin. When you're widely viewed as one of the best drummers in Quebec's metal scene, if not in the Canadian metal scene in general, people don't really have a problem with you replacing a founding member, especially since Justin Rousselle's notoriously dodgy and inconsistent live performances and poor stamina had made him something of The Scrappy. Also strongly averted with Anthony Barone; while he will probably never play a show with the band, his performance on Fearmonger was widely praised, and the consensus seems to be that he is a fantastic fit for the band.
• Signature Song: "Society's Disposable Son" and/or "Reign of Terror".
• Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things: They once had a show in New York shut down on their fall 2013 US tour to prevent a full-on brawl from occurring due to multiple people crowdkilling and generally being gigantic dicks in the pit throughout the night. They made it clear that they wanted to continue playing, but the venue staff made the call, and people who were there stated that the crowdkillers were completely out of control and it was quite likely that fights were going to start if the show continued.
