• Moral Event Horizon: Alberto spends the entire film insulting Paul every chance he gets—even going so far as to mock Paul for being an orphan—and eventually learns the truth, which infuriates him even more. He then gets drunk and accidentally starts a fire that burns the entire vineyard to the ground. They're all devastated until Paul remembers what Grandpa told him and finds the original root that started the vineyard, revealing it wasn't consumed by the fire and they can regrow the entire crop. Alberto accepts Paul after this and becomes a much better father to his kids.
