• Alternate Character Interpretation: Is Aro a good leader who saw the necessity of finding Athenodora before helping Alec and realized that the Volturi need to maintain their power in order to survive (and by extension continue keeping the people in the human world) or is he a paranoid man who overreacted when confronted with the Pjatigorsk crisis?
• Nightmare Fuel: Alec's "dream" where he witnesses a brutish vampire feeding on concentration camp victims.
  • Alec mentions that he and his sister would be the ideal and highly sought-after targets for a vampire pedophile. It's one of the reasons why he's so grateful for the protection of the Volturi.
